Hey everyone.
I'm new to 40k, but it's something I've sorta kept tabs on for a while because a number of my friends play.
I hopped on here to show the list I'm working on in order to have a nice selection of models and to get ready for a tournament next month at my local gaming store.
I'm building a Space Marine Raptors Chapter army from the Forge World rules for chapter tactics and whatnot. I really just love their Chapter Master and their style.
This is the 1500 Point list I've been trying to compile to try my hand in the tournament next month. Any help or suggestions would be great, I've tried reading up on a lot of forum posts and tactica prior to building this so I can at least try and make something competent.
I currently have 1300 points planned out, but I'm looking for suggestions on what I currently have and what I should put in to round out the list with my last 200 points remaining.
I was looking at a Librarian to add in, but I'm unsure what to combo it with to work well with the army. Any help is really appreciated!

Essentially my plan was to build around the fact that I can sorta control the flow of the board through Master of Ambush, Drop Pods, and the Scout rule I confer to units per the chapter tactics.
I can have units strategically placed to counter their deployment, and then deploy the pods where I need them. Since half rounded up come in first turn, I could infiltrate a unit using a drop pod and simply have a drop pod with Obj. Sec. land whenever it can to contest an objective (and it's empty) and have most of my troops on the field turn 1 (except for the Stormtalons of course). I know I'm missing some stuff to deal with flyers truly effectively, and I'm not quite sure what to bring to help with that.

First thing's first; Welcome to the Fold Brother! SO glad to see people giving the Raptors the attention they deserve. Gotta love the 'Reasonable Marines'. Been a big fan of Issadon myself for a while. Now onto your list.

1. Don't forget that Raptor Chapter tactics state that they have the same "Strike from the Shadows" rule as the Ravenguard. Sticklers will be quick to point out that that rule no longer imbues Scout but Shrouded, giving you a +2 cover save on turn one to any non vehicle unit, not deployed in a transport. Just something to look out for Brother Raven.

2. Don't forget that while you may not have Scout, Issadon does give you infiltrate for 3 non-vehicle units.

3. I'd personally swap out the TL Lascannons on your Razorback. Since it'll be carrying two flamers, you want to get in close, so I think a TL Assault cannon will serve you better for the same points. Or you can swap it for a TL Heavy Flamer, free of charge. Also, I would slap a Dozer blade on that guy. I can tell you just how embarrassing it is to lose an armored vehicle to a poorly rolled Difficult Terrain Save. Trust me, it's worth the five points.

4. Please, please, please, tell me you're going to Combat squad your Melta Tacticals and you aren't going to stuff a Missile launcher into that Drop Pod?

5. As for your left over points, I would personally invest in a pair of Stalker AA tanks. Skyfire works marvels and considering it has the same effect on skimmers and flyers and that some of the most popular armies in 40K use skimmers almost exclusively... You see where I'm going with this?

Best of luck in your future tournaments and casual games alike. Vicorus Aut Mortis Brother.

Thanks for the response!

I was unsure about the Chapter Tactics for that portion honestly. I've seen conflicting sides to it since people claim that they reference the "old" space marine codex, which would mean that it still uses the old ruling of stealth and scout. Thanks for the clarification. Honestly, I'm more than happy having Shrouded the first game turn.
Thanks for the advice on the razorback as well. The main reason I'm using one is because I currently own that and do not have access to any Rhinos at this time.
For the Melta Tactical squads I am most certainly splitting them into combat squads. No way am I lugging a missile launcher around like that haha

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I tried revising the list real quick. I realized I have the funds for a Rhino, so I swapped out the RB for it. In the end I put the 2 Stalkers in and had enough points to grab a scout squad for the list with a ML.
