Hi guys,

in my last game against friends of mine an situation occurred and I'm not quite sure that we handled it right...

So, I got a units of firewarriors an d one broadside model within 6" to each other.

Both of my units got charged from two different enemy units (firewarriirs got charged by eldar, the broadside got charged by an chaos unit...were playing 2vs2).

Can I choose to fire overwatch with both of my units on the chaos or the eldar? Or do I have to fire overwatch into the units that charged my firewarrior/broadside (ie. the eldar charged the warriors, so I'm only allowed to overwatch into them?).

Hope you can help.

From memory the oponent declares a charge , overwatch then happens ,so you can choose to overwatch and use supporting fire on the charging unit . Then the charge distance is rolled and moved, then the next charge is resolved untill all charges are complete then cc happens. Picking when to overwatch will affect if you can shoot or not. If you choose not to shoot the first unit and they fail the charge your free to overwatch the next unit. ,however if they make the charge the now engaged unit has lost the ability to overwatch. There shouldnt be any restriction on your choose to use supporting fire as only one unit at a time is the target of a charge, its important to deal with each charge one at a time .how that helps I've only just woken up

Yes, you can choose to either have your unit overwatch the unit charging it or supporting fire the neighboring friendlys charging unit.

This is your choice as overwatch is resolved before charging.

(even if you think about it in a real situation, they could fire at the friendly units charging enemy, they would just miss their chance to overwatch themselves as the enemy would be on them before they could get off a second volley)

Each unit can fire overwatch once. where you assign those overwatch shots is up to you because either unit is capable of helping the other.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
