And another week starts in earnest ... So why not watch a brand-new Glacial Geek Battle Report to slow down this overachiever? https://youtu.be/m4RwSjJ2GLU This week my Dark Angels take on the Space Wolves! Secrets abound within the Imperium of Man. Closely held pieces of information that, should they become general knowledge, could shake millennia old institutions to their very core. Two such groups with these secrets, the Space Wolves and the Dark Angels, find themselves stumbling upon each other's secrets on a remote planet. Neither wanting to expose their shame, and with no witnesses around, the two sides quickly resort to violence, inflaming their own millennia old grudge. Will the Space Wolves keep the secret of their mutated brethren a secret, or will the Dark Angels keep the Fallen from prying eyes? Watch and find out!

Hi Phil,
I'm a big fan of your battle reports, and I love the dark angels army (though in truth I'm a secret genestealer cultist). I liked the strategy with keeping the five man squads with gravcannons in the rhinos - a mobile fighting force - just a pity they didn't get to move very far! I thought your opponent's "space wolves" were particularly impressive with their Samurai aesthetic, and that charge by the thunderwolves was brutal! You hung on for a bit though, but what can you really do against the merciless space puppies? Better luck next time!

Do you know what your sin is, Malcolm Reynolds?
Ah hell, I'm a fan of all seven.
But right now, I'm gonna have to go with wrath.

Thank you very much! :-D ... Yeah this was a brutal game ... I thought it would be closer when we drafted the lists, but those early charges really hit hard! Such is this game though :-D

I feel like the Wolves list was a lot stronger, as ThunderCav and Wulfen are the two best units in their book(s). You did good to put up as much of a fight as you did considering that crazy first turn charge. Killing the Wolf Lord at the end was at least a moral victory, huh?

The armies were gorgeous, and I liked the terrain with the store logo on it. Is Tier 1 Card & Games the only FLGS in Anchorage, or are there others and it's the closest to you? Just curious.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2023: 40 | Total models painted in 2024: 12 | Current main painting project: Dark Angels

Yeah his list was designed to be a competitive one ... I thought mine would perform better than it did ;-)

They are one of two stores that sells Warhammer models, but they have the most support for the scene out of the two ... There's another store in Wasilla which is about 45 minutes away that has some great support for the scene, but Tier 1 is way closer to me ;-)
