Hey everyone, on the 17th of May you've got to scrap all your plans and make sure you tune into Warhammer Live!

Why?

Not only will you get the first peak at the incredibly exciting new game that is AoS SKIRMISH, you'll also get to see bottle live on air playing the first games of it!

It's going to be my Freeguild no-for-goods (and perhaps some other Order mixed in) up against Ben Johnson's Flesh Eater Courts, so it should be a thrilling game as well as a chance to see the new Skirmish rules in action.

If you're a Dakkadakka member and a subscriber to Warhammer Live, make sure you shout out in the chat box too.

Hope to see you all there!

Congrats Bottle. I know this means a lot to you. Proud of you. Hope you have a blast. I don't subscribe so it looks like I will miss it and working so will not be able to see it live.

If you don't show up with your best Korean-pop-star-chick cosplay I'm gunna be disappointed.

But seriously, congratulations!

I think some people will be genuinely surprised (and very disappointed ), haha!

I've been painting like a maniac the last few days to make sure I have some nice models to take out. This will be the warband I am bringing for the first game (hopefully we'll have time for 2!)

(By the way, sorry for spamming across all of Dakkadakka with this lol!)

Dang English and your ability to drive anywhere in the country in less than a day...

I have only one criticism for your army Bottle...it is very inconsiderate to the FEC by not coating them in Teryaki or Soy sauce. They are going to be very hungry after the fight and it would be nice if you helped prep their meal I am assuming the gryph hound will taste like chicken! otherwise good luck!

Even handier if you only live 15 minutes away

@Bottle unexpected circumstances not withstanding, I'll take a trip over. I can be at Whw from about 4ish, so if you fancy a drink or quick game of ought beforehand let me know

Little disappointed Bottle and the other guy were not talking on the mics explain stuff. Hearing it all from announcers was meh.

Game is as I expected for the most part. I didn't stick around to the in-between game stuff but you can get items and new abilities, kinda like how SWA is.

One thing I didn't get was the point system. its 50 Renown. You take AOS cost divide by 5 and that's the renown cost. It is per model right. Like Blood Warriors are 5 for 100pts. So its 20pts a guy so you could take 2 of them

Tried to watch it, but the connection at work was crappy so it wouldn't load, even at 160p. I'm a very sad man...

I watched it. Seemed like a lot of fun. I was rooting for Steve the gryph-hound. What a champ!

I'd have liked to hear post game commentary from the players. Perhaps we could hear some of Bottle's impressions here?

I'd be very happy to share my impression. Firstly, thanks to everyone who watched it (we had over 1000 viewers which seems loads! When I watched it a few weeks ago I recall 200-300 viewers). I had a great time and GW treated me really well making it a great day out. I would have been nice if we could have given post game talks, but with 2 games and all the skirmish information too there just wasn't time.

From watching the stream back today the commentators missed how close the games where. Especially the second where I was very much with a good chance of winning on the last turn but ended up with a draw. When "Steve" the Gryph Hound retreated to the central horde, a roll of a 6 would have given me the win. Likewise the wizard could have rolled a 6 on the Western horde too (although he would have needed to take the final wound off the Crypt Flayer too in both cases). Both games really came down to the wire and were really exciting. My positioning through the games was terrible and I threw far too much away as Crypt-Flayer fodder, but luckily my dice were seriously hot at times (9/10 Priority rolls, and the Chain Lighting bouncing Mortal Wounds).

One of the best things about the new Skirmish set then in my opinion is the new set of 6 Battleplans. I think we played the two best out of them as well. The first one we played (Seize the Relic) is my favourite and it's really thematic with the arcane storm slowly closing in on the cemetery. The second one, Treasure Hunt, is really interesting tactically because it's not a mad scramble for objectives and instead they only come into play if a player actively tries to "activate" them.

I'd like to say thanks to JamesY for coming up to say hi, and sorry I couldn't speak longer as we were in the middle of the campaign phase.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)
