I, in anticipation for 8th, am picking up units I never even considered playing with hoping they will be revamped.

The first ones are KDK Khorne Berserkers. Never had a use for them in my army but now with 8th coming I am excited. The question remains, how should I be equipping them? Im not sure if plasma pistols will be worth it, is chain axes the way to go?

So basically its all up in the air. Do I even build them now?

Thoughts?

Wait for 8th to drop or pin EVERYTHING.

Basically what Andy says, or in my preference magnets. But the good news is, might as well just give them the chain axes, since if you're ever going to use berserkers for anything, it might as well be those, since its their niche.

8th Overhaul!
Over 18,000 SM
Over 7000 Tyranids
About 3000 Genestealer cult
About 6000 IG
About 2500 Chaos
About 5000 Skitarii/Admech *Current focus
About 3000 Deamons
2 Imperial Knigts... Soon to be a third

I was thinking of building with the axes and then holding off on their other arms. I think id run them with axes no matter what.

Yeah, I agree. The axes are a pretty much auto take, otherwise just take a different unit. I recommend magnetizing though. Its easy and gives you options!

It's definitely put a hitch in my modelling. I had just started buying the components for a Skyhammer Annihilation formation when I found out that there will be no more formations... So, I'm glad that I hadn't invested all the way, and I think caution and patience are definitely worth it. Hopefully the people you play against will be cool with "counts as" models for the short term.

5000 pts High Elves 4000 pts, Warriors of Chaos 4000 pts, Dwarfs 3000 pts, Wood Elves and Greenskins too

Ya they will for sure. I also have a seer council and an eldar farseer on a bike I was making that I decided to stop.

Equip them with magnets! I am just starting a Ynnari army, and my harlequins have mucho options, so I want to make sure I dont hamstring myself like I did with my 'Crons.

Really wish I had magnetised my lychguard/praetorians now

Everything that is quite expensive is magnetized in my armies. It's not a difficult process and really worth it if you aim to play only WYSISWG but also want different options available without buying tons of models.

i just got my hands on alot of Space Wolf and Chaos sprues. My latest brainstorm is for Khornate Wolves as Berzerkers, and more savage looking Assault Marines for my White Scars list.

Theres also a drawer full of Night Lords I have been shelving for the last 8 years that I'm finally getting around to.

I also have lots of options for Havocs/devastators, and enough pieces to redo a helbrute.

But I'm waiting on this new edition to drop for wargear options!
