I havent played the glorious Empire since wave 6 or so and think I might have a go. Obviously I have played against them a lot so know how most things fly but haven't crafted a list for ages. I was thinking something along these lines; although I am not at all sure about the TIE/ad and think something else would be better. Thoughts?
"Pure Sabacc" — TIE Striker 22
Predator 3
Lightweight Frame 2
Adaptive Ailerons 0
Ship Total: 27
Colonel Vessery — TIE Defender 35
Expertise 4
Tractor Beam 1
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II 1
TIE/D 0
Ship Total: 41
Commander Alozen — TIE Advanced 25
Push the Limit 3
Advanced Targeting Computer 1
Stealth Device 3
TIE/x1 0
Ship Total: 32

Sabaac seems fine, although I pefer PTL as i gives you a bit more control alirons
Expertise might be overkill but its certainly stronger
Yep the Adv suffers from not being Vader, maybe O/leader or Inquistor (or a Tomax Shuttle for fun)

I second Turnip Jedi. Scrub the Advanced for a more compact, useful third ace.
I was going to suggest the Inquisitor, I swear! Seriously, if you can know when to bug out with him and not PTL, he's got great mobility.

Cheers guys, my thought behind the /ad was for the dual use of the target lock, which of course Inq and O'leader do the same. The Inq. plays like a sniper doesn't he?
How would one run either ship? I have never used a Tech slot before and haven't even kept upto date with what is available.
Turnip, what does a Tomax shuttle consist of?

Tomax shuttle is a bomber with the shuttle title, cool hand, fleet officer, system officer and twin ion, its a support ship handing out focus' and TL and using the stress from fleet officer to constantly re-use cool hand, its not awesome as the bomber is still squishy but its a lot of action economy
Standard o/leader is comm relay for banking evades, Juke to mess with the green dice and sometimes a Stealth Device
Standard Inq is usually Push the Limit, TIE/v1 title, and either Twin Ion or Stealth

Just a quick point that if you're going to use Vessery/ D with inquisitor or OL, you are going to want VI for the ept for the double ps 8.
With x7 Vessery and omega leader it's less necessary, but the inquisitors want to spend the TL every shooting turn, so Vessery needs to be able to shoot first

No, autothrusters. Inq needs those to survive as long as he can. Especially since his whole game is "stay at range 3."

Turnip that shuttle build looks like fun, I am looking through the other options but wonder if the PS problem could instead be solved with;
"Pure Sabacc" — TIE Striker 22
Push the Limit 3
Lightweight Frame 2
Adaptive Ailerons 0
Ship Total: 27
Colonel Vessery — TIE Defender 35
Expertise 4
Tractor Beam 1
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II 1
TIE/D 0
Ship Total: 41
Darth Vader — TIE Advanced 29
Swarm Tactics 2
Advanced Targeting Computer 1
TIE/x1 0
Ship Total: 32
Does Darth add more than the other options do you think?

This is broken. You don't get the adaptive ailerons "boost" move if you are stressed, so using PTL takes away the TIE striker's biggest advantage.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

Yep, a click too far in the squad builder, is supposed to be 'Predator' as above.
Any thoughts otherwise? I am thinking stress builds are going to be an issue and k-bombers could be bad.

My friend runs Pure Sabacc with VI. It's effective, it allows you to maximize your pre-move move because you do it after much of the board has taken position and if you pair it with things like Echo, OLeader, Inquisitor, then you have latitude in which ship you move first so you're not stepping on your own toes.

Do you think that will be a real concern with only three ships and two of those paired to range one of each other? I have played Sabbac with a couple of Phantoms on Vassal but found that all the auto damage stuff I was playing against was too hard a counter.
I am still tossing up the Inq and Oleader against Vader, I can see advantages to all of them as well as real downsides, guess its time for more practice.
Another idea I have been toying with is using Swarm Leader with a couple of mooks but am finding it pretty difficult going (although I love it on Fenn with a pair of light Sycks).
