Would the mods please consider re-opening this thread?

Out of all of the people who were posting in it, literally only one participant in the thread was consistently producing rules-offending content.

The actions of one, or even a small, select group of people, is not a good reason to lock the thread, given the fact that the topic of discussion, so far as I can see, is perfectly within the bounds of the rules both of the forum as a whole, as well as that particular subforum, and furthermore, so far as I can see, the topic of the thread does not intersect with any other current, active discussions.

There was a legitimate discussion going on in the thread. I still have more to say about it. I would prefer it if the mods simply removed the people who were derailing it.

Thanks in advance.

Furthermore, I also wish to report the flagrant hostility and lack of professionalism displayed by the presiding moderator in the aforementioned thread.

"AH HA HA HA! Too late, Traditio!"

This is patent mockery and ridicule (and violates rule 1, may I add).

I request redress.

Not the place, you should PM an Admin or another Mod.

FWIW I think any female Space Marines threads are started with an agenda, and you were lucky to last 4 pages.

The rest of what I think would likely get me baned.

There is currently another female space marine thread which has been going on for a longer time and has more pages. It also required moderator intervention. It wasn't locked.

Fact is, my thread was unfairly selected for locking simply because the presiding moderator doesn't like me. [Evidenced by the mockery displayed by the mod in the final posting of the thread.]

If verviedi and crew want to have a political discussion, then that sounds like a good reason to delete their postings, ban them, etc.

But that's a poor excuse to lock a thread that had nothing to do with that political discussion, given that most people were not engaging in that line of discussion.

There was another thread about the introduction of female Space Marines?

So, what you're saying is that you were aware that there was an existing thread, a thread which, by the looks, your point would have been a perfectly acceptable on topic tangent, yet decided to open your own?

Then your thread should remain locked for duplication, irrespective of anything else.

They were completely different topics.

One thread was about whether or not there will be female space marines as part of the end-times lore.

My thread was about whether or not female space marines would be a market-viable idea.

Completely different topics.

Why would I derail a lore thread with a discussion about marketing/sales?

Oh come now, you're being disengenuous surely? That the lore is a reflection of the models, and that the models are a commercial enterprise isn't a significant driving factor as to their likely introduction?

The thread was opened in Discussions, not Background, and your idea could easily have been incorporated into the prevailing topic.

No. The discussion was solely supposed to be about whether or not people would actually buy female space marines, and if people were willing to buy it, how GW would best be able to cash in on that.

It even had a poll.

Because I like numbers.

There's nothing inherent in what you say that couldn't have taken place in the pre-existing thread, other than you wouldn't be able to appoint yourself conductor of the conversation.

The poll, as usual, means nothing, and, to be frank, given your track record with using poll data, probably slightly less than that.

At least be honest and admit that you started the thread because you want to be the centre of attention, that's realistically the main reason you've opened this thread too, isn't it?

Because what you'd have done if you'd felt really aggrieved is you'd have PMd Yak or Lego or another Moderator, but this thread is an excuse for you to announce to the board that you're unhappy, and, once again, make it about you.

Good gravy. Rage, Traditio, rage!

I've got this thread, a Private Message, and two moderator alerts on the thread that I locked.

Since you want to air this out, the thread that I locked had turned toxic and political. No matter how much Traditio protests, the thread's premise seemed designed to create a nasty conversation. I thought that when I first saw it, but figured I'd give it a chance. I log in to Dakka this afternoon, and there are several mod alerts for that thread. There was discussion of current gender politics, mudslinging, and just too much Real Life in that thread.

If you want a toxic gender discussion thread, take it to the OT Forum. You're pushing your position, Traditio, instead of asking an honest question about it (your question had a false premise).

I'm sure you disagree, and HATE hate hate me, but I'm OK with that. You also reference the other thread about female Space Marines, but that thread has a much more reasonable debate.

Since this is a completely inappropriate thread for Nuts and Bolts, I'm locking this as well.
