You shoot at the guns profile and resolve wounds against each model in turn as you would for an infantry squad, at no point do you use any sort of vehicle rules for these non vehicle models.
Say you shoot at 2 quad mortars with a weapon that is s7 ap4 lets call this weapon an autocannon both mortars still have both crew and are arranged towards your firing model as you explained side by side each having 1 crewman infront and 1 crewmen behind, you hit 10 times and using your s7 weapon you compare that against the "units" toughness of 7 since you only use the toughness of the artillery when dealing with shooting. You get 6 4s on the roll to wound and then the your opponent saves 3 on the 3+ save prevalent over the unit. In this case the first failed save kills the closest of the two front crewman the second kills the second and the third puts one wound on the gun, if it recieves another it is removed or if you somehow kill the second crewmember then it is also removed as there is no one to fire it as the only other firing model in the unit is busy firing the other gun. Automatically Appended Next Post: So you see there are no "Non-vehicle squadrons", when it comes to cc however you ignore the guns completely, the toughness of the guns cannot be used to increase the units average toughness in cc and they cannot have wounds assigned to them, they are simply auto removed if the crew are killed but they do count for b2b so being in b2b with a gun and attacking is instead resolved against the nearest crew member.
