The CCS, PCS and standard Infantry Squad all have an option to buy IKrak grenades with a per model cost. Most of the other IG entries simply give a wholesale squad cost for Krak grenades. If this is because the model number may change depending on if you take any heavy weapons, why then have the Veterans got a standard krak cost even though it's the same deal there?

Per model
Company Command Squad, pg 90
"All Veterans (including any Veteran Weapons Team) may take any of the following:
Krak grenades ................(per model cost)
Carapace armour........... (per model cost)
Camo gear........................ (per model cost)
Platoon Command Squad, pg 94
""The entire squad may take krak grenades ...........(per model cost)"
Infantry Squad, pg 94
"The entire squad may take krak grenades ...........(per model cost)"

Per squad
Veteran Squad, pg 96
"The squad may take krak grenades ...........(per squad cost)"
Heavy Weapons Team, pg 95
"The entire squad may take krak grenades...... (per squad cost)"
Special Weapons Team, pg 95
"The entire squad may take krak grenades..... (per squad cost)"

I would take that to mean that, so long as you had some way of differentiating which model was grenade equipped, there's nothing stopping you from being picky with who you purchase krak grenades for in your infantry squads. I was planning to mark my krak (addicts) as Corporals with a white stripe and grenade in their kit so as to make them WYSIWYG. I also actually name my guys but I doubt everyone does so, especially for IG players. So long as that particular model remains alive I can have the infantry squad essentially operate with the same effectiveness as if they had all been krak equipped for only 10% of the cost.

I have two questions.

1) Can I RAW spend 1pt on an Infantry Guardsmen model with Krak grenade (or 3pts for 3 models with Krak grenades), rather than having to fork out the whole 10pts? (or 9pts if I had a weapons team)
2) Would this be kind of a gamey move in a friendly match? Not really looking for an argument here just your personal opinion.

I checked for this in other threads and in the GW FAQ but no luck.

No you can't, it says the entire squad can take them so it is either the entire squad or none of them.
To have it only on one model it would say something along the lines of "any model may take x".

I don't know about whether or not it's licit. It really comes down to whether the rules say that you are purchasing krak grenades for the model or for the unit.

Same issue arises for melta bombs.

As for gamey?

You're playing a guard army. Just pay the extra points for the squad. You can spare it.

You're buying it for the entire squad. Cost is then calculated based on model count. that's it.
