We find comfort among those who agree with us - growth among those who don't. - Frank Howard Clark
The wise man doubts often, and changes his mind; the fool is obstinate, and doubts not; he knows all things but his own ignorance.
The correct statement of individual rights is that everyone has the right to an opinion, but crucially, that opinion can be roundly ignored and even made fun of, particularly if it is demonstrably nonsense!” Professor Brian Cox
We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".
“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

I wonder how this is going to work out. A darker and grittier story? Maybe something that leads up to Jen and Kira being the last of their race, or maybe how Aughra got the shard of the Dark Crystal?
Very cool! The Dark Crystal was always a very original, evocative story. The imagery deeply inspired a lot of fantasy and sci-fi afterwards. I am cautiously optimistic, and glad that Froud is on board, though I wonder what the effect of not having Henson will be.
I hate to be a downer, but I borrowed the Dark Crystal from the library last week and it wasn't nearly as good as I remember as a child. To be honest, it was kind of hard to understand. The prequel will help that. Sadly, the movie couldn't keep the attention of the 7-year old but I guess that's tied in with the understanding part.
EDIT- Forgot to add but thought about while watching the trailer above, it was nice hearing the original Kermit, the Great Jim Henson, speak again during the making-of portion in the special features. Really friendly-sounding voice that was a big part of my childhood.
