Zenit Miniatures are currently running a Kickstarter campaign for their Kensei range.

It's a fresh new ruleset, much simpler than the first and compatible with their Torii skirmish game. The rulebook (which is still being finalised) is available for download on the KS page. There's a gameplay video here.

The campaign also features a set of warmachines and some accessories like dice. Other miniatures are being unlocked as stretch goals.

They are 32mm metal, and resin for the larger pieces. Sculpted by Juan Diaz and Manuel Pariente. (I think the latter is just doing the warmachines and scenic bits.)

The rest of the Kensei range will be available at a discount in the pledge manager after the KS ends. Zenit are based on Spain. Their last Kensei KS delivered on schedule.

I own most of the range and it's not just the paintjobs that makes these miniatures look amazing. I should say though that they don't make concessions to robustness or ease of assembly. So be aware that there's some very delicate and fiddly bits.

Also, while the game has its own fantasy setting it's very closely based on late Sengoku-era Japan, so you could play it as a historical game by just not using the supernatural units.

I love this range, the figs are stellar. some would be good for Warlord's Samurai game as well. I wish it luck.

I backed the first one for the undead range and picked up a couple of the army boxes as well. i love the look and quality of the sculpts if a bit fiddly. The lack of a printed rulebook and army list for the undead held me back from getting overly involved in Kensei beyond the Kickstarter. Looks to not be the case anymore Definitely like the simplification of the rules in this edition. They were right on schedule with the first KS as well, so guessing we really will get the rulebook in hand in September.

I really want to enter to this Kickstarter but I don't have anybody to play with, so if anybody in the Frankfurt/Darmstadt/Mannheim are in Germany is interested, just let me know!

Just under 30 hours left now, and €2,200 to get to the Komuso.

A first draft of the warmachine rules has been posted in this update.
