So, first off, if you're not wasting your time listening to Crabbok videos, you should. Linky: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt9cO9QooyLopZmu2XT4T0w

He came up with a possible use for the Pelta, which he calls the Voltron fleet. This was my first take on it:

Pelta Command Ship (60) (total 87)
Phoenix Home (3)
Ahsoka Tano (2)
Raymux Antilles (7)
Projection Experts (6)
Disposable Capacitors (3)
Shields to Maximum! (6)

Pelta Command Ship (60) (total 76)
Toryn Farr (7)
Projection Experts (6)
Disposable Capacitors (3)

GR-75 Medium Transport (18) (total 52)
Mon Mothma (30)
Bright Hope (2)
Comms Net (2)

GR-75 Medium Transport (18) (total 23)
Quantum Storm (1)
Repair Crews (4)

MC30c Scout Frigate (69) (total 96)
Foresight (8)
Gunnery Team (7)
Reinforced Blast Doors (5)
Turbolaser Reroute Circuitry (7)

2x VCX-100
3x A-Wings

So this will not win the squadron game by a wide margin, I get that. But I am hoping that I can keep my ships in the game for a long while by maximizing my shield regeneration potential, and removing damage cards by other means than my engineering value. My objectives are Opening Salvo, Planetary Ion Cannon and Minefields. My VCXs can move mines, and an Opening Salvo with Capacitors ought to give anyone pause. I only have a 3 points bid, though. Strategy would be to drop the MC30c first, then squadrons, then the Bright Hope and by then I ought to know where I can place both Peltas and the Quantum Storm to have the hammer come down. The idea is to have both Peltas "pelt" the same target and have it spend tokens piecemeal rather than on a single huge salvo.

Then, yesterday, with 5 minutes left on the clock before closing time at work... a poetic idea hit me. what if each of the ships in the fleet could acutally deal damage, as a true Voltron team should? This is the result:

Pelta Command Ship (60) (total 85)
Phoenix Home (3)
Raymux Antilles (7)
Projection Experts (6)
Disposable Capacitors (3)
Shields to Maximum! (6)

Pelta Command Ship (60) (total 76)
Toryn Farr (7)
Projection Experts (6)
Disposable Capacitors (3)

CR90A Corvette (44) (total 81)
Mon Mothma (30)
Turbolaser Reroute Circuitry (7)

CR90A Corvette (44) (total 51)
Turbolaser Reroute Circuitry (7)

CR90A Corvette (44) (total 51)
Turbolaser Reroute Circuitry (7)

3x Lancer-class Pursuit Crafts

Again, not a great squadron list. But the Lancers have Rogue, so they are not dependent on Squadron commands to get the job done, they also have bomber and grit. This leaves me with a hefty 11 points bid so I could upgrade one Lancer to Ketsu and not sweat it. Or I could switch them to YT-2400s if I'm worried about their fragility. I only switch out the blue objective, to Superior Positions, as I feel I'll be able to quickly grab someone's aft quadrant and lock it down to keep getting victory points. I need an extra CR90 for this to happen, and repaint my red one green, and that thrid one yellow. Oh and a few other squadron blisters too.

So I tried the first list. I would have won, hadn't been for a stupid sixth turn manoeuvre with my MC30c, which left it in the rear arc of an Arquitens, shieldless of course. So that went badly.

The flotillas were a general annoyance to my opponent, because he was never able to damage them. The Repair Crews were great, because I kept removing damage cards on the Peltas, and they would combine Engineering commands and tokens, as well as the Fleet Command, to regenerate 2 to 4 shields per turn.

Opening Salvo was not a great objective. I'll have to switch that one out.
