So I've gone through the learning process of layering, washing, highligting and all that jazz, but one thing I'm still new to is decals. Last night I managed to do a pretty decent job for a first attempt with decals on my Piranha skimmer, but there's one thing. My question is: I worry that the decals could possibly come off with time, so I wonder, is there anything I can do to ensure they stay in place?

Throw some varnish on them.

Would Purity Seal spray work?

Buy Microsol and Microset from your local hobby shop and follow the directions on the bottle. Melts decals onto the plastic and takes away the edge you can get with just water. Any sort of spray finish will seal it all up and makes a nice uniform surface. .

I will reiterate what winterdyne posted.

Follow this to the letter and you will be much happier with your decals than if you tried to trial and error the process.

You're meant to varnish OVER the decals AFTER application, anyway.

This is what helps to keep them on the plastic kits.
