from what we've seen in 8th edition there will not be, but you can proably convert AM to heretics and renegades, the chaos AM list FW puts out easily eneugh

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two |

Depends on what edition you want to play. In 7th, they're come the apocalypse, but forgeworld makes traitor guard.
They're not a direct chaos mirror to astra militarum though. It's mostly mutants and other riff raff, though they can be upgraded to be similar.
Many similar tanks too, it's close enough to play as traitor guard and these are battle brothers with csm and daemons.
The book is no longer sold though (Imperial armour 13).
8th edition? Nobody knows, but imperial armour 13 is getting a re-release for 8th edition.
They're probably going to ally just fine though.

I'm kind of confused about the whole Allie's situation myself; made a general thread to try and clear things up hopefully

Thing about Renegades is that you *can* have an almost pretty identical army to a guard army - aside from Scions and the Scion vehicles, I can't think off the top of my head anything really missing from the Guard dex...
Although playing them directly as a comparable guard is most certainly not their major strength (although they will be cheaper if you usually take blobs, large sentinal squadrons, blast vehicles that don't care about the difference between bs2 compared to bs3 etc). They also have many many options and versatility that guard do not.
They are, without a shadow of a doubt, a top tier army with many of the most point efficient units in the entire game. Two of their detachments (Unending Host and The Purge), give incredibly good advantages.
They also ally in cheaply - for 500pts for example,in a Purge, you could have; a Arch Demagogue and 4 disciples with an auto cannon (think CCS), 3 units of 3 spawn in each, a unit of 2 Wyverns, 2 units of 1 Earthshaker and a unit of 2 Quad Mortars. That would give you tons of ordnance and some fast, tough, mobile scoring (the blasts all stay in play for a tun and count as dangerous terrain as well).
Or if you are wanting to be using your AM infantry you can ally in, for 600pts, an Unending Host with: Arch Demagogue with Master of the Hordes and Disciples with auto cannon, 3 units of 15 Renegades with Militia Training and 3 Melta in each, 3 units of 15 Renegades with 3 flamers in each, 2 units of 10 mutants and 20pts left to throw in a Heavy Flamer Sentinel. Best thing about this is that ALL the Renegade Infantry units, if they die, come back on a 2+ the next turn
- with outflank!... The detachment has a very apt name.

Technically you don't even have to convert them to look all Nurgley, though it would be encouraged as it would look a lot better.

There is no Imperial Armour 13 rerelease for 8th edition, or atleast I have not seen information for that yet.
However, there is the Index: Forces Of Chaos, that is on pre-order on 3rd of June.
It will possibly include traitor guard, allowing you to utilize guard miniatures alongside a Chaos force.

Forge World will be releasing NuHammer Forces of Chaos at the same time as the new rules. Don't know if this includes just Heretic Astartes or also deamons and/or Renagades.

ForgeWorld begs to differ

It's not going to be the exact same book, but it serves the same function. The Leviathan datasheet is no doubt going to be in there so it's going to be even better than IA13.
It's IA13 for 8th for all intents and purposes. Even the cover is the same.
They're also including siege of vraks by the looks of it, so yea, technically not IA13
To my knowledge no models from IA13 have been discontinued so all will be featured (except for the plague hulk but they want to bring that back so that'll probably still be in)
Will most assuredly contain renegades and heretics, except now both lists.
And apparently the odd newcomer. So it's IA13: the definitive edition lol.
