Hi,

I have been on and off with collecting over the years but now want to get fully into the game. I have just picked up the skitarii start collecting set and want to expand on it and get to know the game.

My local store seems great and have said to pop along to learn to play and get assistance. I just wondered if its worth getting hold of the current rule book or wait until yhe new 8th edition is released?

Im sure i will have many more questions over time!

Thanks
Dan

50/50 on the rules. It will depend on what the people you end up gaming are using. I find myself in a similar boat- having been out of the game since about 2009. I just got the 7th ed. books last month... just in time to put them aside for the new ed. Oh, well...

Hi and welcome to Dakka,
8th ed is almost upon us and is a very different game, so is not a good move to pick up the 7th ed books now.
Take a look in the news and rumour forum for some juicy leaks.

Thanks for the replies guys, going to head in and pre-order the 8th ed tomorrow. Also have got the wife interested and she is thinking of picking up the dark eldar starter set. Could be a good way to settle arguments in the house now!

Sounds like a fun adventure to share! Skiitarri and DE are both fun choices

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
