I figured that since he got orders from guilliman before the stasis chamber beckoned that he was out and about during the great crusade. After all, where else do you gather such renown as to be tasked with a primarchs pet project?

I'd like to see some more loyalist mechanicum unique characters and an early Belisarius Cawl would be a nice tie in with the current 40k story, but now Omnissiah Bligh is gone i'm not sure the rest of the team will have the 'sisu' to go there.

We don't really know how long it was after the Heresy that Guilliman was taken down. Cawl may not have come around until centuries later.

Considering Cawl actually knows stuff, I would suspect he predates the schism on Mars. Then again, I haven't read any of the books he's featured in, so I don't know what they specifically say about his origins.

The Forgeworld people haven't really cared about continuity so far with picking what to write about, so I doubt it.

Of course, without trying to sound crass, that Forge World person isn't writing anything anymore, so who knows.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

The Cawl model represents a 10,000 year old tech priest.. So even if Cawl was active during the heresy (which we've seen no indication of) he wouldn't have the same rules.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
But there are rules for senior Magos and th4 Cawl model would he perfectly suited to that.

I would like to see the profile of that toaster. But really wouldn't he be the bog standard magos or less at that time?

I don't find it likely, although it would certainly be interesting....

Given his 10,000 year age gap between HH and the new era, he may not quite br the same master level genewright, armour builder and engineer he is later on?

He had 10,000 years to perfect his methods, blskills and also gather many many cool toys that techpreists love to hoard.

Well certainly the guy would need new rules and new models. Worth it? Maybe. But not as easy as crank up some rules.

I don't think it is gonna happen, but it would be amazing to get a «young» Bellisarus, a lot more human, in 30k.
Would be a good use of the 10k years gap between 30k and 40k

I'd like to see more than just him represented - a special emperors children primus medicae called 'fabius' would be pretty damn cool!

I'd love to have a random special character Tech-Priest Auxilia character named Belisarius Cawl...

With elf ears... No wait wrong thread.

Yeah, maybe a lower ranking Magos or some figure like that.
He would not be the giant, super complex model 10,000 years of advancement and upgrading caused.

It would be a nice nod to the current fluff if he were mentioned in some interesting way. He will not have rules though, we don't even have rules for every classic HH character, let alone new ones.

yeah it'd be nice to see him mentioned somehow, even if just in a novel where Gulliman is talking to the head Magos connected with his legion, a guy named Cawl

What about the 30k Archmagi getting profiles in 40k?
I'm not tremendously savvy on who's dead or not, but maybe as part of the souped up Chaos threat, have the likes of Scoria and Draykavac reappear.
Gotta be some super awesome potential for artistic direction for those guys.

I'd like to see a proper Scoria model for 30k first, is there even any art of him?

Archmagos and Magos on abeyant are on the list for 40k chaos units, so Draykavac is useable.

I doubt any of those guys actually survive the heresy and lasted til 40k era.
