My room mate and I are playing AoS again and are having tons of fun. We are both competitive and bring the best armies we can build to the table (competitive wise). I am finding that playing against Kharadron, at least the way he plays them to be somewhat tough at times. He runs them very ranged heavy and moves across the board quickly by placing them in boats. I found in the last game that having a melee heavy army gets mowed down from range, so I am thinking of bringing as much ranged as I can to try and beat him in a ranged fight. When I try to engage him in melee he retreats and shoots down my melee unit on his turn. Any tips for fighting Kharadron as Sylvaneth?

Thanks!

I should also state that we run a few house rules:

Whoever goes first, always goes first. We find that if you get a double turn it can really win you the game quickly so we made it balanced in our eyes to continue to trade off 1 after the other.
We also allowed shooting into melee, but units in melee cannot shoot.

well first thing is you don't go into a ranged fight with a Kharadron Army, They have more guns...

Second would be to have units that can blunt the advance while you also have smaller elements try to flank. He can't use a lot of firepower if they're in the ship and you need to push some pressure on him.

Use cover, Break LoS, Shove a tree in his face. If you make it hard for him to set up a gunline, he's gonna have to force himself to move a lot...

If you have something that can sneak in and hit the backline then do it. He needs to be forced to choose who to focus fire on.

Keep adding kurnoth units until things balance out.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.
