So, part of me is regretting this game because my meta is dead. a few people have armies, but the local store has no night/day to play it
I REALLY like my death army, but it is honestly kinda a bummer so few people actually play
What is is like in your area?

I run a campaign yearly. We have 24 people signed up currently.

When campaign is not running, the game is not seen in our area except for a couple tournament guys that organize tournament practice. Its not really anything beyond that though.

40k is still king. Even more so now with the new edition. There's always a ton of people waiting to get in 40k games.

This was the case when AOS was WHFB though as well. Nothing has really changed.

We have an AoS night on Wednesdays with varying amounts of people showing up week to week. Often we have a league of some sort going (just finished a Matched Play league, before that was a Path to Glory one). There's also one-off games between friends scattered through the rest of the week.

My meta is basically split (for any warhammer). We have a GW store that has infrequent traffic, and one store that my friend and I have started up AOS on Sundays as an "open play" (not as in the AOS style without points, but as "come down and play, there's no event scheduled") day. However, there is little or no coordination between stores here (I'm not even sure if any other store has AOS) and our AOS group is not really big enough (only about 5 people) to do anything with it. Nobody is really interested in things that can't be "balanced" so its basically just whoever shows up,which I am not enjoying but there isn't enough interest to do an event and we are reluctant to do a campaign or something.

My meta is so casual and laid back that it dawned on me that people will let someone cheat (unless they absolutely know that it's wrong) because nobody can be bothered to really verify; if you can make it sound authentic I've seen people do things like run an entire unit of paladins with Starsoul maces or say that Gore-gruntas can sweeping advance into another unit if they wipe one unit, and never get called on it because nobody really is sure of everything and tends to just roll with it.

My local FLGS meta for Age of Sigmar is very laid back, with a regular meeting night of Wednesday nights for our games. There's just 5 or so us that meet regularly, and we are all looking at 40K now that the Edition change is upon us. We are probably going to become the "Casual & Narrative Player" group rather than just the Age of Sigmar group at this rate.

I like Casual Narrative... AoS has always kinda been more focused on the story than the competitive nature of the game. I'm hoping to find more AoS players near me so we can put together a Path of Glory Campaign.

We have about 5 guys who play AoS at our store. We also play 40K, which is more popular in our area. We enjoy AoS and have a table dedicated to AoS and we are currently running an on going story game. We have found that a story game/campaign which, oddly enough we started before Skirmish came out, built on renown points based on paths to glory builds but on a smaller level. We did this more to make it convenient for the players since we all have jobs and families so we can't always have a set schedule day for play.

I just play with a couple friends and family is all. I don't go to stores too often, but they still seem to be mainly 40k. Actually mainly mainly magic, but in miniatures, 40k.

Skirmish is a lot of fun with friends in a casual setting, and i think it might have a lot of potential there, because two people with collections can make playable forces for a lot of other people.

Just a note; any wargames store save GW ones will have MTG because it's a reliable revenue stream that can subsidize the less profitable wargames end.
