My 7-year old and I played my first game of Of Gods and Mortals this past Sunday, and apart from having to look things up, the game went well enough that we'd like to continue. I have a Reaper Bones storm giant that my son used for Zeus, but I had to proxy a GW ushabti for Anubis. I have been looking at Northstar's official models, but they don't really grab me. Any suggestions for other Greek, Norse, or Egyptian gods?

Now showing The Fellowship of the Ring, along with some Dreadball Captains!

For Greek and Egyptian, maybe WarGods by Croc Games?

For Norse, there is a Gods of Asgard expansion for Blood Rage with Odin, Thor, Tyr, Heimdall, Frigga and Loki. They are boardgame plastic and the scale might be 25mm.

The Land of the Rising Sun

Reaper Warlord had some Egyptian undead for Warlord that might fit the bill. I know I got a thoth and a bastet from bones somewhere.

Smith Jamison: We aren't here, which means when we open up on you and shred your bodies with automatic fire then this will never have happened.

About the Clans: "Those brief outbursts of sense can't hold back the wave of sibko bred, over hormoned sociopaths that they crank out though."

Reaper has a lot of good stuff. For Egyptian gods, Sokar's avatar is a good Horus/Ra, there is a Sobek, and Bast and Anubis statues that could easily be painted to be more lifelike. Set is a little trickier as the Set creature is a bit of a mystery.

I would also take a look at 54mm figs, especially for Greek and Norse gods as they are basically just upscaled humans. Thor is a Norse warrior with a hammer, Odin in a Norse noble. Zeus is a Greek noble, Ares a Greek general, and Athena is a popular subject.

Here are the only 2 gods told ever need for a game.

Ok... Maybe a third, a... New God, if you will.

That's an option, I suppose, but I suspect that building a pantheon around either theme would be far more expensive than simply using the Bones that I already own...

The local dollar stores sell 1/48th(? about 2 inches tall) minis of Batman, Superman, Flash and Green Lantern for $1 each... Just saying.

The local dollar store would be a 10+hour, trans-Pacific flight for me. I'm not sure that the $1 price tag would make up the difference

Wargames Foundry and Crocodile Games make a good selection of Norse, Greek and Egyptian-styled fantasy ministures, but none of them are 2"-3" tall, sorry.
