I've been waiting for GHB2 to see if any of the issues I have with the game have been resolved.

We're just now seeing rumors for the Blood & Thunder starter set. I would image AoS will pick back up after the 8th edition release.

We've also got Shadespire coming later this year to be excited about!

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

All eyes are on 40k right now(even GW agrees with that "where did the daemons go" facebook post). When that dam breaks we'll see a lot more AoS activity again.

As for myself, I've had to put my hobby time on hold as RL is besieging me at all hours it seems.

I think.aos has definitely gotten a bit stale. Between no releases for death, a lot of repacks and no ghb2 40k seems way more interesting right now. I was hoping for ghb2 before the 40k releases as a last big thing for AOS before switching back to 40k, but that didn't happen. I'm waiting for ghb2 to see if it does anything to fix the issues with AOS currently while playing extremely casually with friends and starting a 40k army.

i think they ignore aos for now and only fokus on 40k. this could last the rest of the year knowing 40k is the main game for wg.
and since we got the "skirmish" rules as a stand alone this means there will be no GHB 2 this year, as thouse pages could easily fit in its own section in the GHB.

1 thing that i noticed today when shopping for tau failresin hq, is that for death hexwraith/black knights and grave guard are no longer avalible and sold out online.
so either they wanted to empty the warehouse and get rid of these models in favor of new models or these models sadly is removed in the next death alliance book.

I've seen leaked photos of new boxes for both Skeletons and Dwarf infantry. I would expect a reboxing of several "legacy" kits in the next couple months. It'll be interesting to see if this also includes legacy army rules of any sort. I know we're also expecting some sort of Aelf release at some point this year as well, and Shadespire is scheduled for later in the year. It's only June. GW knows that ignoring a game that struggled to find its footing early would be the death of that game. I'm betting we'll see some new releases (and likely GHB2) sometime around late July or early August.

How do we know there's no GHB2 this year? For that matter, how do we know there IS a GHB2 this year? Or at all?

40k is a huge release that will have aftershocks for a while. I don't think they're going to ignore it, though. It doesn't need new releases every week, but something during each month is helpful.

We don't know that there will be a ghb2. Its wishful thinking based on a statement of intent from GW that they'd adjust points.

The community has made a lot of assumptions on what that will look like.

Pretty sure there is going to be a GHB2 with adjusted points.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

We've also seen community site posts alluding to the changes they intend to make and have seen blog posts from tournament organizers stating they have been testing new points values. It's far more than just a "statement of intent".

I think there will be a GHB2. However, there's never been any public statement about when that might happen. The "summer 2017" rumor seems to have been purely based on the assumption that it would be a year or so after the previous GHB, but nothing official to that end has ever been stated that I can find. (Happy to be corrected, though.)

That said, the did just announce the new Path to Glory, and also with the recent Skirmish release it seems like that cuts some content that we might have otherwise expected for a GHB2. But, who knows, there's still the potential for updated point values (probably a given) and even new scenarios and other campaign rules (oh, please, give us something to use old Mighty Empires tiles with), not to mention they could use that to add in allegiance abilities and artefacts for all the old Battletomes if they wanted. We'll just have to wait and see.

As for 40k taking away some thunder, it's not surprising. I suspect after a few months we'll see some more alternating type releases, but perhaps that's wishful thinking that the "New GW" won't revert to their old ways.

I'm confident there will be one too. Someday.

When that someday is is anyone's guess.

Right now the broken points have mostly dissolved my play group, so GHB2 may be a little too late.

Well, summer just started two days ago, so they still have three months to hit that deadline. Like I previously mentioned, we've seen leaked images for what looks to be a large-scale repack. I'm sure 40k will get a codex release or two in the next month or so, but AoS is definitely getting some stuff as well.

Hopefully it won't be long until we hear some rules changes (assuming they are adjusting more than just point values)

Meh, I'm fine with the rules as they are but I wouldn't mind any additions added.

I'm more looking forward to the battletomes that a GH usually heralds.
