Any recommendations on laptops that are $700 - $900 which function well for gaming as well as everyday stuff?

Looking at the Lenovo Legion y520, Dell Inspiron 15 7000 seried and the Acer VX.

Open to other ideas and hearing about any experiences with those or others.

I am not a super crazy gamer, and will also be using it for general use/school work (Word, Excel, Power Point, Chrome, etc).

I have a new but extremely slow and cheap Dell with 4g of ram and it barely can function with 2 applications running...so frustrating trying to work on schoolwork and needing 2 or 3 apps at the same time and having delays switching between them.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
There is a deal on the Lenovo until 6/21. With 16gb of ram and the rest being "base" options, the Y520 would be like $864

Try this.

8 gb and a GTX 1050 should be more than enough for casual gaming.

I pulled the trigger on your recommendation. For the price I just couldn't pass that up and it will be a massive upgrade to what I have now....a cheapass Dell Inspiron 3558 with non upgradable 4gb RAM.

Trying to write/finish my 10 page case study paper amd having to seriously struggle through lag when switching between chrome and word....omfg i was pulling my hair out.
