Cultist of Nurgle with Open Sores

**Added Typhus and Terminators**

Added the new Typhus model. Not sure if I will attached the destroyer hive or not. I like both looks but it might be too busy with it. I am unsure. As of now he is done.

I have a few final touches on my Blightlord and Deathsroud Terminators and they will be done.

8-15 Added Malefic Lords

Could not find an official model so went with a box of 5 Dark Heretics, and picked out the 2 that looked the part.

8/7
I decided to do something with the cultists I had from the DV set finally. I figured a small point Renegades and Heretics force would be cool, so I started them to compliement my Nurgle army. I got a Basilisk that was in pretty shape. Ok really bad shape. It was glued all wrong, and had a thick coat of silver paint. I tore it apart, and decided to make 2 units out of it. A Battery and a Griffon Carrier. Not too happy with them, but hey its practice.**

I am working with cheap tools, and sub-par painting skills, but I push through!

This is the start of my new Nurgle army for 40k. These were all eBay purchases and some came pretty badly beat up and some painted worse than my work. So a lot of stripping, and repainting was done. The regular Plague Marines were metal, the rest plastic with FW upgrades. I also used some models from the DV set.

This is my second army I am painting but my first army I am passionate about. I used stuff I never used before (greenstuff, technical paints, etc). I was going for an easy paint job but more worn and gritty over bloody and puss filled.

CC is always welcome, but keep in mind any suggestions for improving need to be at a beginner level and realistic!

Hello Vaxx, Your paint work is excellent. You are very humble.

All the Death Guard squads & individual models are painted how Nurgle Touched Space Marines should look.

Off Topic, You have a very clean cutting mat.

Thank You for sharing Your Collection of Models. :-)

Updated with the DP, Drone, and Bell dude.

The army is coming together and still sticking with a dirty, worn, and easy scheme in order to finish them in a decent amount of time, while keeping the painting skills low.

Nonsense any suggestions for you to improve would need to be way way higher than beginner level, these paint jobs are fantastic. Love the gritty rust textures and the pale skin, what colours did you use for those? Ps you are far far better at painting that you give yourself credit for but keep being humble it makes one try harder.

I appreciate the kind words. I keep it simple. I am happy with it, but I dont think I will ever get as good as a lot of people I see post here. I am amazed at the stuff I see in these galleries.

The pale skin is easy. Rakarth Flesh with Agrath wash, then back to Rakarth, than highlighted with Pallid Witch. All on top of Deathworld Forrest base. The rusty effect again simple and easy. Typhus Corrosion with some Agrax, then a very light stipple of Rhyza Rust.

The pale skin for the Demon Prince was Vallejo Air Cold Gray, with Athonian Camo shade, then another coat of Cold Gray, and highlighted with Ogryn Camo.

I like simple lol.

Just had to chime in that these models look great!!!

I know what you mean about some of the work on Dakka being amazing, but a lot is done by professionals, and other work is just people spending dozens of hours on single figs. Some very few are just great and fast.

I'd be hella proud to have what you painted mate!

I was thinking yesterday about what skin colours to use for my not plague drones in my start collecting set, I wanted it to differ a little bit but had no idea what colours to use. A picture of the flesh I did on the plague drone so you can see what I am talking about

I am thinking of stealing yours, though I wonder if I then would be sick of that colour scheme when I get round to my dark imperium chaos force so hmmm on that one.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
PS where is the spawn from? When you say it is all based on death world forest, do you mean the green slime on the bases or base coat of the armour?

Very straightforward. Simple steps.

Base of Cailiban Green on top. Astrograntie Debris on parts of the base that you dont want "ooze". Black wash on the Astrograntie. Drush brush of Dawnstone. A light stippling of Nurgles Rot on the Caliban Green that way the darker green comes through in some areas.

For the Characters just add some broken cork. Paint the cork black. Heavy dry brush of Dark Gray. Light dry brush of Dawnstone. Done.

A very cohesive and effective paint job! The techniques may be simple, but your execution of the simple techniques has produced a great result. Inspiring...

I am not sure on what models I am going to use for regular infantry. I used the Cultists from DV for my 3 Marauder Squads. Used the spike racks from Chaos Vehicle sprue to make the long barrels for my 6 snipers, and scopes from regular marine bits to attach in order for them to stand out.

Added some pictures of the army list I played this past weekend.
