Hey, I wanted an opinion from a few folks.

I've made a kitbashed Chaos Lord with some nice Tzneetchie Wings that usually rides a disc. (I'm so happy about being able to power fist planes now.)

In your opinion, would you, as an opponent, be comfortable with me using Wings as a count as for a jump pack if I take him off the disc? I magnetized him so I could pop him on and off.

I think one of the possessed(?) backpacks has a pair of giant wings on it that are perfect for this. I do it all the time with that bit on my lord

I was wondering the same thing as I'm currently converting some Age Of Sigmar figs into Dark Angel Jump Pack Marines. One of my regular opponents is giving me a hard time about them "being to different"

... because it isn't clear what they are? Your mate is being silly, and most people wouldn't say anything but "neat." But he is allowed to be silly, I suppose. It's simply gonna be up to whether you feel it's worth taking that fight or not. But he is absolutely silly. It's 100% clear that those are jump pack marines.

Vigo. Spain.

That Dark Angel Winged Assault Troop is beautiful.

Anybody that can't make the relation Jumppacks=Wings (When Space Marines haven't any other winged infantry) shouldn't be played this game.

They should be playing something like Heroscape with prepainted and prebuild figures.

There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Skeptical about Sigmarine wings. When you say "winged jump pack" the first place my mind goes is Dark Furies, who basically take the wing bit off some of the Dark Angel icons and stick it to the side of a normal jetpack for decorative reasons, the next place is the Swooping Hawks and related Autarch, and the third place (and the most relevant for a Chaos Lord) would be Scourges.

You could go full-on Legion Angelius with Scourge wings and have two pairs of bat-wings on a Chaos Lord pretty easily, though being Tzeentch you may want to find something more feathery.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Ha thanks, I was quite happy with the unit. The paint isnt finished yet. I only made 6 of those guys so I keep 6 of the actual assault marines around for when im fighting him. He has a problem with the height of them I think.

Sorry for the semi thread jack. But very good to know that these will be acceptable if I brought them to a game. Thanks!

Yeah, I went with feathered wings for my chaos lord. I've been painting out fine details for a day or two now, so it's a little cleaner looking now with the steel & silver popping a lot more. I mainly just need to put my Disc together and paint it.

No, you are aren't. Wings = jump packs was repeated multiple times over the years.

Absolutely.

I did the same sort of thing when I converted a Mandrake into a Corsair Prince - with wings standing in for a Jet Pack.

Spoiler:

Didn't Chaos even used to be able to choose between wings or a jump pack?

There are 2 sets wings in the possessed marine box. They're probably the simplest wings to convert for your lord provided that he has a backpack of some description that you can remove - easy to magnetise as well because of the way backpacks are attached. Unfortunately, unless you're already buying possessed (which make great bases for character conversions due to the esoteric armour and dynamic poses), it can be difficult to get hold those pieces.

I had an extra Kranon laying around so I decided to give him wings and claws. I intend on him using him as a lord with jump pack.

Your opponent is an unintelligent and dense person. He's floating, he's got wings...Jump Pack model. Duh.

I'm personally going to go with those Raven Guard Heresy specific units on the FW site. The packs look nice and won't require any extra work for the most part.
