When destroying a transport vehicle do you roll per model per unit or do you roll per model for the emergency disembarkment.

For example.
If an Ork Truck carries 5 Nobz and 1 HQ and it gets destroyed do you then roll for each nob a D6 and remove one of choice for each roll of 1 and one separately for the HQ?
So that if a 1 is rolled for the HQ then that model gets removed and not one of the Nobz.
-OR-
Do you roll for the total number of models that has to make the emergency disembarkment move ignoring the different units? Meaning that as long as you do not roll six 1's for the emergency disembarkment then the Ork HQ would not get slain as long as you keep choosing to remove Nobz.

From 'Transports' (pg. 183, 8th edition rulebook):

If a transport is destroyed, any units embarked within it immediately disembark (see below) before the transport model is removed, but you must then roll one dice for each model you just set up on the battlefield. For each roll of 1, a model that disembarked (your choice) is slain.

The rule doesn't care about the number of units that disembarked, just the number of models.

if you have a truk blow up with 5 nobs a warboss and a mek you'd roll 7 dice if you roll any 1's you can pick who is slain from any of the 7
