Playing around with a revival of the 'Double Masque' concept from 7th and I'm curious what people think of this.
Batallion 1
Troupe Master (Embrace, Fusion Pistol)
Troupe Master (Embrace, Fusion Pistol)
Shadowseer (Fog of Dreams)
Troupe x5 (5 Embrace, 2 Fusion Pistol)
Troupe x5 (5 Embrace, 2 Fusion Pistol)
Troupe x5 (5 Embrace, 1 Fusion Pistol)
Solitaire

Shadowseer (Twilight Pathways)

1995 points total, +6 command points, so lots of re-rolls to play with. The Shadowseers ride with the 1-fusion troupes, Troupe Masters with the others, Solitaire lurks behind them avoiding LOS as much as possible and waits for an opportunity to charge.

My opinion you need some long range shooting, something to make your opponent take some attention from your starweavers. I really like Ravagers for this job. Void weavers can work too but have less wounds.

I'm interested to see how this cuts it in games. Harlequins are super glass cannon this edition. Will be interested to see how just embrace goes in the army.

Indeed, you don't have any ranged AT. Against lasorbacks or wyverns in the backfield, it's going to be tough. If they have some bubblewrapping, it might even be impossible to get your fusions within 6".
If you want to keep a pure harlie army, the voidweaver is the only real option. I'd probably drop the solitaire for that.
Skyweavers aren't too bad at shooting, and they have a pretty decent T1 charge range, but you would need to change your list too much to fit enough to get a real AT threat.

I bought Dark Reapers for mine. Sit em in your back and try to cripple the biggest threat you might have to face that will kill your transports.

Drop some of the characters and buy some bikes? I'm skeptical about the shadowseers and their ability to negate that much damage. You don't really want to throw a single unit forward of the main wave either, so the best power seems like a bit of a waste too.

Agree with general comments, you need some decent-ranged AT (pistols are still great, they just don't cover all situations) and some "edge" with skyweavers, they add good S6 fire and alpha strikes on key enemy shooting units if needed (and it's needed in my experience with Quins).

" Of course I can give you some hints, whelp. Surprisingly, for free.
First, alway stay sharp. They'll come, you'll be ready. Focus, think fast, act accordingly.
Two. Money, power, influence, sex, safety of your loved ones... no matter what, you have a weakness among those. Find it and defeat it. You don't need it. You'll be unbreakable.
Third. In a hundred years everyone on this damned sand grain of a planet will be dead. Keep that in mind before you rush the situation and kill someone. Time'll do it.
And remember, we do not sell drugs, this is the best advice I can give you. Will save your clean face one day" |
