Yesterday, I was reading my book Betrayal again, and I found myself eager with all the campagn part.
I have always enjoyed narrative games more than "matched play" in 40k, and I think 30k is / should be even more narrative driven.
What campaign/narrative have you played ? What are the best, according to you ?
Any memorable thing happened during one campaign ?

Had a real good narrative game recently - we set it in the hold of Lord Eidolons personal flagship, the 'Proudheart' just after horus breaks the news for the first time, above Isstvan 3.

We decided that an information leak was detected and isolated to the Mechanicum forces throughout the 'Proudheart'; when the order was given to terminate the personnel responsible, two Magii and their bodyguards escaped the massacre to the cargo deck which we reasoned would stretch the length of the ship.
We decided that although the hold would be sectioned up and sealed, the adepts wouldn't have any problems hacking doors but their general whereabouts would be known to the traitors and the most likely scenario would be the two Magii trying to flee the ship (making their way to the escape pods or teleporter hub?) or find a transmission terminal/computer room and getting cut off by an elite group of EC legion marines én route.

Me and a friend took control of a magos reductor and a basic cohort of thallax each and our opponent had two squads of veterans and Lord commander Eidolon.

It was essentially a zone mortalis game of 1000pts a side with the maze of walls made from the armoured containers - our objective was to get any model to a specific room on the other side of the board and the enemy objective was to stop us or table us.
We allowed destruction of the armoured containers which mixed things up a bit, we decided that the ceiling was just above the tops of the containers so you couldn't climb up or over them and none of them had weapons attached; the game ended with one of the thallax units jetpacking off toward the escape pod/computer terminal room while the last magos was charged and killed in CC by eidolon behind them.

The game was a test run for a series of similarly located games we are planning for youtube.

HH "Apocalyse" game. Traitors vs Loyalists + Imperial Fortress. Traitors had to kill the Loyalist warlord, who was inside the fortress. Generators powering void shields which prevented deep strike inside the fortress were located in a Zone Mortalis board that linked mid fortress to the mid field.

We did a narrative event in Nashville recently. 8 tables, each were different parts of the world we were fighting on. Each had a benefit associated with it.

Group was split into loyalists and traitors, and after game 1, whoever won the table got to confer that bonus to someone on the team in the next round. In the following round that table could change hands.

It was a lot of fun. Allowed for us to get some good games in, with some fun little twists. In the end Loyalists just slightly edged Traitors out for the win.
