Forgive me if this has been discussed or is detailed somewhere else, but how exactly were Primaris marines trained if they were in stasis this whole time that they were being created? How were any of them wounded to be put in dreadnoughts and how did officers get leadership experience if they've never seen combat?

100 years have passed from the time they were unveiled and the current 'now' of the 40k setting. In this interim they have been training, fighting battles, earning accolades, being injured and interred, etc.

IIRC the Dark Imperium novel mentions Matrix style skill and knowledge implants/downloads. It also states that the Primaris were very green at first, but by the books(and the games) "present" they have been active for about a century. So the first few years were probably a combination of "Whoa I know kung fu" downloads and regular SM vets giving them the full metal jacket treatment.

The First Rule of Fight Club is ...You don't Talk about Fight Club!
The Second Rule of Fight Club is ....YOU DON"T TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!
I believe the fluff has them training in sparring arenas and receiving it thru suggestive brain techniques while in stasis and then 100 years of application in real world battles.

They where not in stasis the whole time, and they would have been trained in much the same way as standard marines where, a combination of hypo indoctrination and hands on pratical training. as for how some where wounded eneugh to be put in dreadnoughts, remember Dark Imperium starts 115 years after the return of Gulliman, plenty of time for that to happen. yet again re officers 100+ years of active duty, also some where picked for command early due to their character etc.

Marine veterans from the various chapters might of helped train, and supervised the greener recruits on the finer arts that hypno training cannot.
Basic indoc from the machines. And refined in real training and supervised engagements.

Yes but probbly also being so new concept. The grne seed experts probbly hovering pretty close to make sure there new project is not mutating or suffering massive flaws like otter attempts at improving marines.

quite likely, I imagine when they spent time thawed out, the routine went like "morning, training, eat lunch, afterbnoon get poked by drs for a few hours, then more training"

From books there careful on regular marine, adjusting as they go to make sure new organs take, growth etc is inside parameter's etc.
But these are kinda brind shiny new, I'm surprised we have not seen the grim far edge of the side too like the Primus marines who broke, geneseed failed and devolved into feral wolves, dath company etc..

They can be made of already existing marines apparently so no real need to train those guys
and as stated its been a while.

I imagine they're saving those for future releases. give space wovles and blood angels etc new choices, for example, "ohh hey, primaris marines are vunerable to the curse of the wulfen, pick up the new space wolves codex for information on "Wulven Alphas!" etc.

I haven't read Dark Imperium yet, but to they say where those original Primaris came from? Are they all Martians or Terrans who were conscripted? Clones?
