Monday? More like FUNday when you have a brand-new Glacial Geek Battle Report! https://youtu.be/S5XVpdno1hw This week my Genestealer Cult take on the Salamanders! The call came in with an urgent message. The local Planetary Defense Force had been overrun and anarchy had taken over. Imperial Society was on the verge of collapse. The rebellion seemed to be led by a Genestealer Cult. Normally this call would be sent on to the Deathwatch, experts in purging the Alien, but this case was special. The planet in question was in the same system as Nocturn, the homeworld for the Salamanders. They could not allow a planet so close to their home to fall to vile xenos worshipers. Vulkan He'Stan himself rallied a force to go and liberate the planet. Would the Salamanders be able to root out the Cult and bring order back to the planet, or would the Four-Armed God gain another planet ripe for a Hive Fleet? Watch and find out!

Now THAT was a game of 40k! It's always exciting when a game comes down to the last couple of models! I definitely agree with you that Flyers are really strong with their speed and the -1 to hit. I need to get my other 2 Dark Angels flyers built and painted so I can run the Air Wing detachment. Genestealer Cults have some nasty tricks with that Cult Ambush table and the fact that Genestealers can advance and charge. Plus they only cost 10 points (including GSC ones thanks to the FAQ). One thing, though: I don't think your To Hit roll can get worse than a 6+ even with modifiers. So when you moved the Rockgrinder it should have still been able to hit the flyer on 6's. Just like saves cannot get better than a 2+ even in cover.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Kind of surprised you didn't try to cult ambush your magus to take over his plane earlier, but that was an awesome report. Keep em coming!

No such rule exists that you will always hit on 6s.

on the other hand Nobz they decided it was in the best interest of ork society that they "Go Green" as such they specifically modified their warbikes to not make giant smoke, dust, grit, clouds. Instead they are all about driving with clean air, one might say their bikes Gak out rainbows.

Thank you all! :-D ... This was a REALLY fun game! :-D

@ZergSmasher - Unfortunately you can absolutely make a roll impossible to make. They spoke about it in the FAQ and used the Poxwalker save as an example. They have a 7+ save so it becomes impossible to make unless they get a bonus such as cover. :-)

@iGuy91 - The best advice I can give is to be consistent with your release schedule and to film things deliberately. Filmed games take WAY longer than regular games because each step needs to be discussed and decided. You also need to make sure you and your opponent wait to roll and pick up dice until there has been enough time to film. :-)

The new FAQ confirmed that a hit roll can be a 7+ to hit aka impossible, so RG and Flyers cant be hit with weapona that hiy on a 6+. Unless it says it alwats hits on 6,s.
