During 5th edition I build some tervigon and tyranofex proxies from carnifexes. Now I am rebuilding them to carnifexes.

But I cant find all my guns and claws. I never threw any of them away intensonaly. My question is: Did all the carnifex boxes come with all the parts? Because I remember a thicker carnifex box came later on.

Please say I don't have the parts (don't humor me though) or I have to dig and dig and dig to find them.

Specificaly big scything tallons, deathspitters and devourers I am curius about.

If my memory serves they had one of each weapon option except scything talons (which they had 2 sets of)

Thank you.

I gues I will go digging through boxes then. I know I used some parts for proxies/conversions. Hope I find it.

Older sets never had devourers. I'm not sure about deathspitters but I want to say no because they were on the warrior sprue.

From my memory 5th Ed era fexes came with scything talons, crushing claws, a venom cannon and a barbed strangler.

Yes, yes, yes, and YES! Thank you. This not only means I did not do something ridiculesly stupid in the past, it also means my memory is fuctioning in pressent day. And it calms my ODC.

I think when they went from the slim small box, they upgraded the box but only added one more spruce with the extra weapons.

Can anybodyelse put my mind at easy and verify or deny this?

No.

As part of the 4th ed onward Carnifex sprue it had Twin Devourers, Twin Deathspitters, 2 sets of Scytals, Crushing Claws, Venom Cannon and Barbed Strangler.

The smaller Talons, Venom Cannon and Barbed Strangler were on a seperate sprue that was also shared with the Hive Tyrant of the era.

Here, ebay image of the sprues

Hmmmm... I might just be going sligtly insane then. This is slightly worreing. :-/

I have the heads on that picture. But that is a wrong base, yes? Carnifexes come on 60mm round bases.

Can somebody at least verify if the carnifex box got a bigger box some time between 5th edition and 7th editon? A slightly more normal sice box.

I do not mean the 2x Carnifex box that is currently existing.

The one from the Shield of Baal campaign was supplied with an Oval base but the sprues are otherwise identical.

The sprues didn't change. The original White Dwarf from the 4th ed release showcased all the weapons on the sprue, the heads and all and had a seperate sprue breakdown.

Larger box or not the sprues were identical. They've not since been recut, nothing has been added that wasn't there with the 4th ed release.

The White Dwarf you are looking for is White Dwarf 307 - UK.

Slightly happy end!

With the knowledge that I knew I had the parts I managed to find 6 unused devourer arms. Hurray. :-)

I also found 4 deathspitters. It apears that I used 4 devourer hands making boneswords for the swarmlord. I have the parts, but I am unsure if I can assemble them with greenstuff. But at least I can assemble my carnifexes now. :-)

Devourers can be easily made from the Deathspitters if you really need to. Just a case of cutting and replacing with Devourer weapon heads from Warriors/Gaunts.
