Subject: No models on the table: Lose?

I think I'm missing something. Can I have no units on the table and not lose the game? For example if a guard army blows all my Tactical squads off the table T1 and I still have Terminators in reserve, do I lose at the end of the Battle Round? What if I just don't bring them in til turn 3, effectively passing turn 2? This wasn't legal in 7th, but I can't seem to find the rule. Figure I'm just missing it. Thanks for your answers!

Not 100% sure as i dont have the book beside me but i think, outside of turn 1, if you ever have no models on the tabletop at the end of your turn your opponent wins a major victory.
Which makes sense, no one should ever have to play their turn without anything to move against/shoot at.

I agree it makes sense and I think that is the rule too, it certainly was last edition. I can't find it anywhere though.

It's in the missions.
If one army has slain all of its foes, it immediately wins a major victory
Now, all of it's foes is debatable if reserves are included or not. Maybe they clarified it in the FAQ.

I saw that rule, but they definitely haven't slain all their foes if there are still reserves! There is even the rule that if something doesn't come in by Turn 3 it is slain, which indicates that they are not slain before that.

Matched Play, Sudden Death, BRB, page 215:
(...) If at the end of any turn after the first battle round, one player has no models on the battlefield, the game ends immediately and their opponent automatically wins a crushing victory (...)
Units in Reserves are not on the battlefield, so it is possible to lose even if you still have units in Reserves.

I don't know if I read this rule, but it's one I would go by in this situation... I would assume if your army gets wiped, except for reserves, then your next turn must be to pull from your reserves
I only say this because what would keep you from just not placing reserves for multiple turns? That would defeat the purpose of even having reserves if you didn't play anything and Incertainly wouldn't do anything on my turn with nothing on the table to kill.

Thank you! I couldn't find it!

Key words are "at the end of Any turn after the first battle round"
So if you went first and don't drop models in your turn 2 you lose.
If you went second and did not drop models in your first turn after you got picked off you lose.

on the other hand Nobz they decided it was in the best interest of ork society that they "Go Green" as such they specifically modified their warbikes to not make giant smoke, dust, grit, clouds. Instead they are all about driving with clean air, one might say their bikes Gak out rainbows.

Don't forget empty fortifications(I know that they were already in the sudden death rule); they don't count either.
If all you have on the table a buildings and birds to poo on them: you lose. You have to have some dudes to clean up after the birds.
Fun fact: a bird-transport with a unit inside still does not count as a unit on the table(unlike the window-washers in the bastion); so a Storm raven with a unit inside is still sudden death-loss if your opponent kills the rest of your units before the battleround ends(second turn means you better lay those eggs before flight if you are low on units)
