So, the Fate of Konor kicks off in a week and is primarily Chaos v Imperium.

The only faction to have a fully fledged codex by then will be Space Marines (including Primaris).

To me this looks it may skew the campaign results in favour of the Imperium.

Is this just an unfortunate release timescale, will Death Guard/Chaos get their codices as the campaign progresses and have to play catch up or is it an overt attempt by GW to ensure an Imperial victory and avoid the debacle which ensued after the original 13th Black Crusade campaign?

Personally I think it is the second scenario?

What do you guys and gals think?

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

I think its more symptom of GWs summer release schedule with schools being off.
More people on holidays (both kids and adults) = more engagement with the campaign = more potential sales. I agree not having any Chaos updates before it goes live is a bit poo but I dont think its malicious, more a case of with 8th only being about 6 weeks old GW have tapped out on their release schedules.

It is a nice excuse to get some games and paint some models. I wouldn't worry too much about the minutiae. Balancing one of these is basically impossible and isn't really the point anyway. It is cool that they are providing free missions and strategems to play along with.

I think you need to loosen the tinfoil hat I doubt GW is thinking that way, (yoiu give em too much credit) I think they just launched this new edition, are moving the story ahead and wanna do something fun with it

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Not to mention there's plenty of xenos factions that could swing it either way depending on how they feel. Personally I will be playing Tau, and putting all my victories towards either advancing the Imperium or putting back Chaos, because I don't think chaos have any real power beyond the deamons, the traitor legions shouldn't have got this far.

And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

Fear not, no tin foil hat here. It was just another general option.

Xenos input will be interesting to the campaign.

I believe Xenos can count their victory for either side.

We should have all Xenos players fight for Chaos. I can't be the only one that wants Mortarion to remove Draigo from lore.

Well considering the Ultramarines are the main Imperial protagonists, and we all know how people feel about the poster boys, it wouldn't surprise me if that sways a few Xenos players.

Sounded like xenos wins get to subtract points from either side.
In which case I propose a xenos push to reduce both sides to zero

Eldar don't fight for Chaos. It's against their code. Thus swinging Eldar victories to benifit Chaos would be "unfluffy".

My Eldar will not enter the fight. I will stay neutral.

on the forum. Obviously

You can only register wins and painted models in store.
The only viable store I can get to is 30 minutes away by train.
Ain't got time for that :(

If I could though, I'd just reduce Chaos points. Because that's what necrons would do.
They would also probably reduce imperial influence. Because why give the lesser races a stronger foothold in the galaxy? Soften them up and harvest their worlds.

I know almost everyone I play with (Chaos players, Xenos players and even some Imperium players) will be putting all their wins on the chaos side, 'cause we really don't like the Imperium.

Also, what are peoples thoughts on the painting side of it? Is everyone going to stay honest with when they painted that Landraider they used in a battle during the vehicle week?

The store manager knows what units I have already, plus I'll be doing any new ones in a different colour scheme, so yes I'll stay honest.
