Hey Dakka, here's some news that's near and dear to me.
Assault Publishing will be launching their 3mm space warfare game early September.

Before I get too deep into it a bit of disclaimer.
I don't represent Assault Publishing. However, I am affiliated as I was the illustrator for this rulebook. It was my first time working with them and it was a blast. I've been cleared to share the illustrations but I'll only offer a sneak peak. In the meantime, I will happily share some images of the models. I do own a bunch of these but these are the ones from playtesting I believe and are what has been shared on facebook. They are produced in a slightly harder metal. The detail is fantastic and very crisp right out of the package.

Esh Aven -
These guys are crazy insectoids that value the number 3 in a major way.
Here's a link to a decent preview section

The standard humans for this are known as the Confederacy.

Right now there are a few more things to show but I want to double-check before posting.
Until then, here is one of my illustrations from this project

The official launch for Shadows in the Void is set for Friday morning!

To celebrate here's another one of my illustrations that will be in the book.

Here are the mysterious Esh Aven, holding a council to discuss whether scalene or isosceles is superior. D'chaka and T'krillik are sold on scalene but Phil is a holdout for the little mentioned third option.. the equilateral!

Official Release Announcement
After two years of hard work with the help of several fantastic wargaming enthusiasts, I proudly present Shadows of the Void, a unique space fighter wargame. It requires careful planning and the use of cunning tactics – stealth actions, sudden attacks and unexpected traps are keys to victory.

In the 90-page rulebook you will find basic rules with helpful diagrams, twelve different scenarios, a random mission generator, and five squadron list, each representing a distinct race. What is more, the book comes with all the necessary counters and cards printed on separate sheets.

But there’s more! Shadows in the Void is the first Assault Publishing ruleset with a dedicated miniature range produced in cooperation with Oddział Ośmy. At the moment, it covers all units from two of the five squadron lists, with additional forces in preparation. The metal miniatures are made in 3mm (1/600) scale and are fully compatible with O8 PSF line.

You can find more details about the game in the article on the Assault Publishing page [http://assaultpublishing.com/shadows-in-the-void/].

The rulebook and the miniatures are available in the Assault Publishing store [http://assaultpublishing.com/on-line-store/]. Additionally, the first 75 copies of the Shadows in the Void book come with a special gift: a pair of Z-4 Jacinta interceptors!.

Nice. So it has space and ground combat? Integrated in the same game?

I believe there are elements of ground combat. I haven't received my printing yet though and all of my illustrations dealt with spacecraft. I'll ask Marcin and verify. I think it's the middle of the night where he is but I'll get that info when he responds.
Got an update:
Ground units work in simpliefied way: their are either the targets to destroy/protect or can be invoived in Firefights (check weapon phase).

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I threw together a promo card for the game with some of my illustrations.

Looking good, I've been collecting ships lately and I can see myself getting some of these

All of AP's stuff is IMO way under-priced. The ships I've gotten are among the best micro scale figures I've ever seen. I am biased but I'm also calling it how I've seen it.

The game focus on fighter combat (and other small spacecraft like scouts and transports) and they are the stars of the show, but missions are played both in deep space and over planets - that's why we have ground units. There are elements of ground combat, but they are simpliefied: you can unload the troops over strategic areas and ground combat is resolved automatically, but player can increase changes of winning it e.g. by unloading more troops or providing air support.
