I find myself with a spare 70 points to complete my small 1000 point CSM army. I'm currently running a Battalion detachment of three squads of marines in rhinos led by a Chaos Lord and a Winged Daemon Prince. No additional points can really be wrung from those units and I'm not really looking to make major changes, like scrapping entire units, even though I know that Chaos Marines are not the most competitive choice. Here are the options I have come up with for the remaining 70 points:

- 5 Fallen armed with just bolters who are tagging along with my warband for their own purposes
- 14 Cultists running towards my opponent, eager to prove their worth to my Chaos Lord
- 2 Chaos Spawn, serving as minions to my Daemon Prince

Since my Daemon Prince has a mark of Khorne, I'm not too keen on adding in other Daemon units like Tzaangors, Horrors, or Nurglings, but I could be persuaded. Tactically speaking, what unit above would best suit my current army?

Thanks!

I'd probably go with the cultists or the spawn.besides that it's kind of hard to say since most people play at 2k points

What weapon is your Daemon prince using? Because the best one is Malefic Talons, which is also the cheapest one, freeing up another 35 points if you were using the axe. I suggest thinking about some special weapons for your Chaos Space Marines as well.

IMO the best unit in the codex is Havocs with four Plasma Guns and Combi-Plasma.

Yup, he's already got the Malefic Talons and my Chaos Marines are maxed with their special weapons and champion options!

Would that I could! But I think that'd run me well north of 100 points ...

Another vote for the cultists. May be worth dropping two to add a flamer.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1
