Hi folks,

I want to use the Custodian Sagittarum Guard in 8th edition.

So I took my HH book VII and the latest Indexes and brew up the following.

Custodian 6" 2+ 3+ 5 5 3 3 8 2+/5++ 40
Shield-Captain 6" 2+ 2+ 5 5 3 4 9 2+/5++ 40
Custodian Sagittarum Guard 6" 2+ 2+ 5 5 3 3 8 2+/5++ 40

Weapon Range Type S AP D Abilities Points
Adrastus Bolt Caliver 15
Bolt Volley 30" Heavy 3 5 -1 1 -
Disintegration Beam 18" Assault 1 5 -3 D6 On a hit roll of 1, the bearer is slain after resolving all shots.

So one Custodian Sagittarum Guard would be 55 points.

What do you think?

Im currently, trying to convert many units in HH to 8th! I think your rules are spot on. Maybe the option of power knives for 5 points. I'm create rules for my galatus dreadnought; any ideas?

I left the Power Knifes out, since they are not mentioned as wargear in the HH VII book.
Galatus - haven`t put any thought into them since I do not own one. Maybe start with a Contemptor? Warblade like PF, Shield like Iron Halo?

On 2nd thought...
IMO a FW Relic Contemptor is the right basis to start.
Pretty much nothing to change.

Give it a Dreadnought Chainfist as a stand in for the Galatus Warblade.
Add a heave flamer.
The Atomantic shielding and Relic of Ancient Glory abilities are the satnd in of the Praesidium Shield!

There's no reason for them to have lost all there good toys such as the heavy rifles. Dreads ad such.

I honestly wouldn't spend 55 points on something which can kill itself like that for such a small amount of damage. I'd change the D-Beam to Assault 2 and "On a to hit roll of 1, the bearer suffers a Mortal Wound after all shots are resolved.

I'm not sure what to think about Adrathic weapons. S5/Armourbane in 7th means they shouldn't just be S5 (going from wounding a Rhino on a 5+ on 2d6 to a 5+ on 1d6?), and 8th-Gets Hot seems too punishing without any way of mitigating it.

(I do think Valkyrie's suggestion of just inflicting one mortal wound is probably the way to go if Adrathic weapons are going to keep just one profile instead of getting a base/overcharge split like plasma, I may appropriate that for my attempt at the full Talons list port.)
