Ok guys, I made a new list. I'm helping my friends practice for an upcoming tournament they're going to, and I thought I'd make up my best attempt at a competitive Death Guard army. I'll make an ork one one day too.

Rules are that you get 2k points, but you need to have 2 detachments in the tourny. It's a team game, but I'm playing alone just to help out my buds.

Battalion Detachment:
HQ
Typhus (because why not) (Plague Wind, Miasma)
Daemon Prince + 2 claws (prescience)

Troops:
Pox Walkers x 18
Pox Walkers x 18
Pox Walkers x 18 (considering turning these into 2 squads of distraction nurglings/tie up unsuspecting unit)

Elite:
Blight Bringer

Heavy:
Predator Tank with lascannons
Predator Tank with lascannons

Outrider Detachment:
HQ
Daemon Prince + 2 Claws (warptime)

Fast:
Plague Drones x5
Plague Drones x5
Foetid Drone

Comes out to be just shy of 2k points. I'm sure you guys can already see what I have in mind. Daemon princes run up with drones along the side/ up the middle if I need to and they all assault/cast powers/ distract. Predators shoot and do predator things in cover. Typhus rolls up the middle with blight bringer and the zambies to either take objectives or put pressure on the other side of the map. Foetid drones kind of do whatever, either target individual squads, support the princes, be a distraction, whatever. They're a good unit.

I'm facing imperial guard with space wolves, but I don't want to tailor against anyone. I just want it to be competitive. Thoughts on it? Weaknesses?

Solid list mate. Only thing I would look at is wings for the DPs? Sacrifice plague drones to get them.

I changed my list a bit because I didn't realize that I was a bit above. Pretty much made a squad of 6 drones instead of two squads of 5, and added a third bloat drone. I'm considering getting rid of another drone for wings on both the DPs, but idk.

If i have a squad of 5 drones and then give the wings to both princes, then that puts me at 2002 points. Worth sacrificing a zambie?

That's 3 bloats, 5 drones in a squad acting as body guards for the princes up the middle/side of the map. lol it is tempting.

So the game went well, but it was painful at first. I had first turn and he stole initiative on me...

He killed my two predators with his artillery, and wrecked a lot of zombies with his wyverns. He also killed a bloat drone and wounded another to half health. I was not happy.

After that tho, my army did great and the toughness of everything really showed against the shooting he was putting out. By the time my zombies reached his conscripts too, I made back about 15 zombies in one round of combat.

We ended the game early, but by the time we did I was up in points and had half of his army stuck in combat.
