Ive been meaning to make a log like this since i started the first marine in this army, well im 80 models in.. better late than never!

Most models arent finished just yet, there mostly at table top standard, based, and look ok, tho i still would like to add some more details,

But for the first post ill start by covering the command squad, most of my models, are in some way inspired by either dawn of war games, in terms of what they look like armour so on, or existing models were ive recontextulised the poses or ideas,

So here are my commands and standard bearers, or ancients as there now known, so annotation in order of pictures, going from the 2nd picture onwards this is my 3rd company captain, with his standard bearer, the torso comes from the mk4 forgeworld model, and so foes the flag, i sculpted the legs for each there resin casts more specifically of the same sculpt, and sculpted a cape, the big influence for these models tho were definetly the mark 4 captain from FW, its a commen thread that you can draw all my 3rd company models have mk6 shoulders, this is a reference to dawn of war 2 were we saw a few squads in this configeration, i wont do them all like this tho for now it sifferenciates them a bit,

The next 2 are my fourth company comanders, lots more gold... the captain is inspired by dow2 commanders, with gold arms shoulder trim and torso, also the big aquila on the shoulder pad shows up alot during dow2, and theres a blood ravens raven on the shoulder pad like, the standard bearer has the big IV on the shoulder pad in dow2 some marines just had a number instead of an arrow, thats what i was going for here, the flag comes from the primaris ancient, otherwise is pretty standard,
Lastly a libarian, i had a un used terminator libarian torso which was the base for this, but otherwise is generic enough its similar to the other libarian but ive always liked having them pointing using magic

Heres the first of my tactical squads, the first 6 men im fond of and are finished they were some of the first i did, the other 4 have some work to be done and pretty much just need painting,

The highlight is the sergent in this squad, im sure some people can spot the influence from him from a certain games day model, i wish now i had done an aquilla on the chest not the mk4 torso but i can always do another similer model im happy wi with it tho

The next is a 2nd company 5 man squad, they feature in dawn of wat dark crusade as the marines who beat the necrons, thats basically there screentime in a nutshell and they have no named units confirmed to be alived, but for one small detail i wanted to feature a small number of them, potentially just these 5 as a cambat squad or joined with another 5 of something else, but they also highlight another detail which is the blood ravens aquila, ive got 2 versions in this squad, 1 is from dow the normal one the 2nd is more stylised is seen in a few peices of art of a list of all space marne chapters list, i dont consider it to be canon exactly but for one marines stylised shoulder pad its unique

These 5 are what i play with the above 5 marines to make 10, there a squad of 5th company marines, in dawn of war were told that the 5th company ended up on a space hulk and when they were found they recoved the geneseed and armour, the and apothacary galan and the chapter master who were with them were corrupted so i presume the bodies recoved had there geneseed and armour reused for new initiates, the rest either un found or corrupted, for these reason im not to keen to field to many, there dipicted as having no shoulder trim, and it was a good chance to make that armour version, and have a bit of head cannon
