Has anyone tried painting catachan tanks and found a reliable way to do it?

Im assuming you are trying to do jungle/tiger stripes on the tank.

do you have access to an airbrush??

Im fairly sure you can still achieve camo without one by base coating, letting it cure, masking tape the negative of the design, then stipple the other color over it then removing the mask right after the paint drys.

touch up the original base color if needed.

Though i have not tried it.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Just take a large brush (1/2" thick 1" long sort of size), pick two base colours (normally a green and a brown) and alternate very rough thick lines of each colour up the tank. Once you've done that, take a darker colour and make a thinner rough line at the point where the two colours meet.

Gives you a base colour scheme that looks like this:

It's a pretty vague question - what do you mean "catachan tanks"?

Do you have a picture or an example of how you want to paint them?

Really old school codex catachans couldn't use tanks. The only vehicles they could take were scout sentinels as tank treads would get bogged down in the jungle terrain.

If you're into fluff...then read up on Imperial Guard and how they operate. You'll see there is no set camouflage pattern. A Catachan regiment will ship off for a campaign and may never return again to Catachan. They'd likely paint their equipment to match their environment.

I do agree with Hades though - a real Catachan force shouldn't be using tanks at all.
