= 59 total ship cost

Raider-II Class Corvette (48 points)
- Boarding Troopers ( 3 points)
- Overload Pulse ( 8 points)
= 59 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)

now i'm not entirely sure whether i've got this in any sort of shape because i'm working within the confines of what i own.
i do have another VSD and two Glads on the shelf and the contents of the starter set. so any suggestions would be welcomed (and will be appreciated this time i swear)

Do you have a strategy for deployment?

I'm not sure Overload Pulse will see much use on such fragile ships. I'm not saying remove it, but you're going to have to keep them safe from large capital ships.

my thoughts on deployment are mostly to use the Raiders as speedy flankers.

One good roll could see them wiped out. I think they are better suited as flank protection myself.

By the by, why not use the Disposable Capacitors that came from the Light Carrier Expansion?

I had thought about it. But I had a bit of a strange thought this evening. Is a 4 medium imperial ship build viable?

Depends what the ships are, but it would be hardcore to go through that many hull.

Basics are
Light carrier

Oh yeah... I like that. The light carrier needs squadrons to shine. But assume tou keep the ships skinny... what points budget do you have for squads?

So I out fitted the ships like so

2 x VSD II
Disposable capacitors
Quad battery turrets

Interdictor (flag ship)
Title
Grand Inquistor
G-8 experimental projector

Quasar Fire I
Boarding troopers

3 tie squadrons (though i have been thinking maybe upgrading them to defenders)

Now this might sound suicidal, but hear me out.

If you're going to commit to 4 medium ships (I assumed Motti was your admiral), you could crank it up to 11 and go further:

Remove the TIE fighters. This gives you 24 points to play with.

VSD II
Minister Tua
Reinforced Blast Doors
Disposable Capacitors
Quad Battery Turrets

VSD II
Disposable Capacitors
Quad Battery Turrets

Quasar Fire II
Gunnery Team
Agent Kallus

Interdictor Combat Refit
Admiral Motti
Title
G-8 Experimental Projector
Disposable Capacitors
The Grand Inquisitor

Your opponent brought anti-squadron stuff? Tough. Your Light Carrier can fire it's delicious front arc twice per turn, once at squadrons and once at a ship. Kallus allows you to reroll on named squadrons. If he didn't bring any, you're out 3 points. Just make sure you slow roll your battle line, because a QF II at point blank dies... quite easily. Found that out the hard way.

You should probably keep the Interdictor a bit back, as it doesn't bring much in an early fight, but a fresh ship can really turn the tide of the battle in the late turns. I'm not sure you want to be speeding up with the Inquisitor, but I like the possibility too.

cool idea and i'll keep it for another day since i sadly don't have the cards at this stage (working on it).

my plan was to setup in a rough diamond shape slow rolling (speed 1 to take advantage of the Quads on the VSD) across the field with the Quasar at the top centre, the VSD's on the flanks and the Interdictor bringing up the rear (since the Inq and the G-8 are R1-5 so i can stay back)

in retrospect i think i'm going to just drop the TIE's anyway. the only thing they are adding is a small fighter screen jic

Wait... 2 came with the Light Carrier, unless you sold one off.

So you could sub that for another card.

Tua and RBC are in the Arquitens pack, and Kallus in the Gozanti.

Let's scrap the Kallus idea, You could ask around for a Tua, anyone who bought Arquitens is bound to have multiple copies. But then you'd still need RBDs... unless you get ECM, those are great too. You could keep using your Brace even if an accuracy blocks it.

Sorry I meant the quad battery turrets.

I'll ask some of the guys on Sunday while I'm down there if they have spares that they're willing to part with.

Or just loan, really. There have to be reems of Kallus with all the Gozanti that got sold when you could lifeboat your admiral.

Look at your country. That means it's almost in your area...

Like me going to the next biggest city.

So very true. And funnily enough it to my state capital....

So I came in at respectable 8th out of 12 players for my first tournament. I think the two things that really let me down were 1) my objectives and my choice to go second. Of my three games I took second for the first two and took first for the last (thought why not?) And 2) was lack of fighters.
