This is a simple thread of me asking a simple question.
I'm considering getting into Age of Sigmar soon (I don't count that impulse buy of a bunch of Skinks a while back as a thing considering I just use them for painting practice these days and to teach people how to paint specific textures for miniatures) But I have no idea where to start.
I'm considering getting into Orks since well I mainly play 40k and mainly play Tau, so why not go to the polar opposite of the chart. Could someone give me a run down of some things I should know? Maybe try and sell me on your faction like a cheesy car salesmen to incorporate me into your horde.
I'm pretty easy to persuade as long as y'all are peaceful about it

Go Chaos. Be evil. When you're evil, you get to wear a cool cape. Chicks dig the cape.

I can get behind this.
See here are my options
Tzeentch is out straight out the gates, because after what the Thousand Sons did to Fenris; my girlfriend won't allow me to collect anything in association to them.. Sadly. (May sneak them in at some point, yeah, she REALLY likes Space wolves)
Nurgle might be my best bet considering I'm getting in the dark imperium set soon (I say that but it's already a week late so it may not be in ever for all I know) so getting more nurgle means I can have them standing next to each other and looking all weird an gross. I can also use the Daemons with my Nurgle army in 40k
Khorne.. Well who am I kidding, I am probably going to pick up that Stormecast eternals vs Khorne set at some point and use that but hey, I'm always up to learn
Slaanesh? Eh, why not. Porn for the porn Gods and all that.

Why not beastmen, they're chaos. Go Brayherd and you have one of the fastest if not the fastest infintry armies in the game, or go Warherd for some of the hardest hitting elite armies, or do a little mix and match.

To those that say there is no stupid questions I say, "Is this a stupid question?"

Don't know there matey patatey.
They don't seem my style.

I have an odd question (Open to all) I don't know a lot about age of sigmar, but can I mix and match as long as they are from the same grand alliance?

Yes, you can absolutely do a mixed army from the same Grand Alliance. If you do, you can only pick the Allegiance Ability for the Grand Alliance (in the General's Handbook), rather than the individual faction abilities, and you may lose out on some synergies that work off of keywords (e.g., something that affects only NURGLE units won't affect things without that keyword), but otherwise, go nuts!

Hmm..
Sounds pretty cool!
I shall probably have some unit cohesion though, like stick to one faction.
I'm torn because I do like Chaos (Nurgle and Tzeentch) but no one in my local play group does Destruction at all, so I might do Orks..

I wasn't too convinced at first, but the song may have done something to change that

Just rememeber that this might change for matched play with the new generals handbook, which comes somewhere this month. So just start with a subfaction and when the new ghb comes out we know the exact changes and if you can only take a small part from other subfactions or that the ally rules are just something on top of the current system of mix and matching all subfactions
