After having jumped onto the saddle with Scum Nym, I'm pretty much in love with this version:
Captain Nym (Scum) (30)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Autoblaster Turret (2)
Bomblet Generator (3)
Accuracy Corrector (3)
"Genius" (0)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Havoc (0)

Total: 43

What would you suggest I pair up this version with? Yes, I will use Nym and Miranda in a Rebel build... but I want to know what you'd pair the Scum version with.

the Rebel version of this will be the bane of my existence come October when nationals are on....

But in all seriousness maybe a Ketsu or Assaj for scum?
for the rebels i've heard a Sabine build might be viable. the real challenging one is a list with Nym and Biggs.

Lothlorien: 3500pts
Rohan: 1500pts
Serpent: 2000pts

Engine Upgrade (4)
Havoc (0)

Biggs Darklighter (25)
R4-D6 (1)
Integrated Astromech (0)

Horton Salm (25)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
R2 Astromech (1)

Total: 100

Alternatively, if you don,t care about all the greens, you could do worse than R2-D6 and Adaptability on Horton, bumping him to PS9, using your deliciously accurate TLT shots to strip tokens. Although with an AC, Nym doesn't care, but I guess Biggs might find it fun.

But getting back to Scum. The usual suspects would be Dengar, Ketsu and Asajj, or even a Contracted Scout like I did 2 weeks ago, but I am leery of big ships and giving away 50% of my points. Although you could to worse than a 34 pts Scout with Cad Bane, Clusters, E.M., R4-B1. I loved slooping and dropping bombs to either cover myself or drop the hammer on an ace.

That is a very similar list i lost to at our store championships on the weekend (somehow VI was on Nym). the only ship i managed to take was Biggs. Whisper lost badly to sustained fire from Nym

For scum Nym? I don't think you can go wrong with Tel or Dengar personally. Ventress with VI is nice too as well.

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

I've run the adaptability version of this alongside Dengar (insert whatever default flavor you like) to great success. Even as a novice player, being able to smack someone with Dengar, then follow-up for a kill with ABT on Nym is pretty devastating.

As for your question though, I'm prepping to try out your exact Nym build with my standard Kath Scarlet setup (or some variation thereof, depending on performance). Typically I run Kath expensive with Expertise, Dengar, HLC, and Engine Upgrade. With VI Nym that's 99 points. Ultimately though it's just a weaker (though fun) alternative to real Dengar.

Welp. If the rumours I saw are true, forget about Miranda/Nym.

They're true, and not really rumors. But Miranda is actually not crippled by it, you can still use experimental interface to drop bombs at the cost of stress. It's definitely a nerf, but I'm not sure it's a fatal one.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

It's not fatal, but it makes her very predictable. She'll drop one action bomb before dying. Not a series of them. If she takes a stress to drop a bomb, you have a very narrow cone of possible positions for her to be in after that.

As long as they haven't published the document, I'll be under the assumption that those changes are what they are, while secretly hoping that at least that last one will be rolled back somehow. I don't see ordnance K-Wings becoming a thing. That may very well be a failure of imagination on my part, but dodging arcs on a PS2 ship is just too easy.

Esege might see the table, though. He is largely unaffected by that change.

I'm trying Nym and Emon tomorrow night, as well as a Thweek (it rhymes with Leek), Sol Sixxa, Gunrunner list.

Didn't get a chance to use the second list, although Emon and Nym made short work of high green dice targets.
