Like the title of the thread says, I'm thinking about starting a CC oriented, very aggressive army. Two come to mind, World Eaters and Harlequins, but I was wondering if any other army could fit that description. I'd like to avoid the more horde style, such as Orks and Tyranids, however.

Possibly Ravenguard, but hard to go wrong with the 2 you mentioned.

The two you've mentioned are the two that probably fit your criteria best. Taking Ms. Hesperax and a Wych Cult-oriented DE force is actually quite doable as well, and like the Harlequins you have loads of options if you feel like adding different capabilities to your list.

Orkz are the #1 most CC based Army in the game

Tyranids probably come in #2 as a very CC heavy Army

Nids are fast, so can get up there.

I'd second Nids as an alternative option. They're known for their swarms but running a Nidzilla list with Hive Tyrants and Carnifexes looks very viable.

How about surprise the hell out of everyone with a 2000 point rough rider army? The look on their faces. . .

Anything naturally labeled Khorne is good. The Mark of Khorne doesn't do anything exact allow you to take an Icon of Wrath for rerolling charge distance, which is still pretty good but doesn't really help things that aren't Berzerkers.

Don't forget a sorcerer for Warptime + Prescience.

You know, Thousand Sons aint bad in CC these days - Magnus is hench, and Tzangors are a really great mainstay for some CC spam. 2 attacks each, 3ws, -1ap, easy to buff, fast on the charge, with a 5++, all for 70pts. The advantage with 1kSons is that you get lovely new figures and lots of psychic shenangins, if that's your thing...

Same with Quins.

Necrons - 6000+
Eldar/DE/Harlequins- 6000+
Genestealer Cult - 2000
Currently enthralled by Blanchitsu and INQ28.

The funny thing is, I like T-sons and their fluff and models but they never struck me as a CC army haha.

Honestly, it's a tough choice between World Eaters/Khorne and Harlies. Though I may wait and see what the Chaos Marine Codex has to offer before making a final decision. Will also give me time to save money, haha.

Necrons can do decent CC now. Especially now that "low initiative" isn't a thing anymore.

Flayed Ones, a C'Tan Shard or two, Lychguard, and Praetorians. Not bad overall.

Wake. Rise. Destroy. Conquer.
We have done so once. We will do so again.

Space Wolves, Khorne, Nids. These armies know how to do melee properly without being frustrating and needing perfect tactics. IF you want a TRUE challenge, go Orks, but they are a weak army with a strong theme.

Jeanstealers, with a Vanguard detachment of GDC Purestrain Jeanstealers to ambush.

Naturally if the enemy brings flyers you'll die, but that's true of any Tyranid army.

Black Templars? Re-rolling failed charges, high marshal gives +1A&S to units in his bubble, and the Emp's Champ turns characters and monsters into hamburger.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
