Hello everyone.

I just started in AoS and I decided to choose StormCast (my local meta is made of Tzeentch, Sylvaneth, Death, High Elves and Slaves to Darkness, I was very pleased to see that I'm the first one round here to choose SC).

While i was reading the Battlescrolls I didn't understand one rule about the Liberators and my friends are divided about how to interprete it.

It's all about the Sigmarite Shields. Reading the pdf it's says "You can re-roll save rolls of 1 for this unit if any models from the unit are carrying Sigmarite Shields". This rule started a little discussion about it, some say it only applies to the models that have the shields while others defend the "it says IF ANY MODELS FROM THE UNIT, you can just put the prime with one shield and all the other minis with double weapon".

Not really sure what to say, I think it only affects miniatures with the shields but since I just started playing some weeks ago I could like to ask if you guys know how it works.

Based on the wording, if a single unit has a shield, every model gets to reroll "1"s.

1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress

Exactly as previously but stated. Any individual unit equipped with a sigmarite shield will re-roll any save roll of one.

Example:
- a unit of 5 liberators with shields takes 6 wounds.
- You roll 6 dice to see if the wounds are successful
- any dice you roll as a save that shows a one, you can re-roll.

Note you can only it once. I.e if you roll a one and then re-roll a one, you can't do it again for that particular attack.

It's worth mentioning the unit composition in your example is incorrect, it is currently impossible to have only a single shield in the unit. The current builds are:

All hammer and shield (barring the few upgraded to great weapons)
All sword and shield (barring the few upgrades to great weapons)
All doubled weapons (barring the few upgraded to great weapons.)

Well, then the unit description limits the ability. That could explain the wording.

Thank you all for your help.

Oops. Didn't even look at the unit description. Rookie mistake there. Didn't mean to misinform.
