so after reading through the inquisitor rulebook I am looking to start a campaign with a few friends, already downloaded the rule book and character creation sheets. Does anyone have any tips or hacks to make the game a little simpler and faster while retaining the RPG elements? Really excited for this one.

I honestly think the game works better between a GM player controlling the "baddies" and an Inquisitor player.

The hardest thing to wrap your head around is that this is not a campaign game.... it is a narrative game. There is no "improving" or "leveling" only dying and injuring. Therefore, it has strong horror overtones as your characters slowly get widdled down and replaced as you progress instead of improving and skilling up.

As a Narrative game, the focus is less on the bang-bang and more on accomplishing mission objectives and acting "in character" with your chosen models backstory and goals. However, there are no inbuilt rewards to do this except for those rewards intrinsic in doing so.

There is no "balancing" per se either, which can be hard for people to wrap their heads around. It is unlike any gaming experience you have probably had and requires a tight knit group of players to pull off well.

It is not RPG and it is not wargaming.... it is its own unique and rewarding beast. Shed your pre-conceived notions about gaming before you continue.

well currently I'm combining a lot of Shadow War's simplicity while attempting to retain the story telling aspect of inquisitor. I wouldnt mind tinkering with the game to make a weapons "shop" they you could use credits to purchase weapons etc after collecting a bounty for certain missions so I wont be following inquisitor directly. I just like its background and lore.

Also, I will be the GM and I have a full range of DE, Eldar, and Genestealers that will cme up once in a while (when the inquisitors arent bickering and fighting amongst themselves)
