Hi Guys, ive been a long time lingerer in the P+M section and have decided to start my own to log the progress of my IF army.

I started in the hobby last november with Tau but just don't find the fluff very interesting, so after a little reading i found myself drawn to the Fists, and with the release of the primaris kits decided that id build and paint a unit at a time so that there's never an unpainted unit in my army. (also it stresses me out seeing unpainted models, which is a shame as i now have a half painted Tau army)

Anyway, here goes;

First up is a salvage project from ebay, i got this model for a fiver in a thick coat of blue paint, a couple of days in brake fluid and it was good to go.

Second Ebay salvage project, metal body and some second hand autocannon arms

Aaand the last Ebay salvage project

I splashed out a little for its trusty operator

And last but not least for this post, my favorite model of all time

Thanks for looking guys, im gonna put the starts of my primaris up next, let me know what you think, also have a bit of head fluff if you guys are interested?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
follow on post with the start of the Primaris contingent of the 3rd

Fun fact- i misspelled terra as tera on the banner hence the sketchy side view haha.

Ok thats the lot so far

Currently in progress is the first intercessor squad and a squad of 6 easy-build Reivers i plan to paint as Templar brethren.

Boxed and waiting to build;
- 3x intercessor squads
- 2x hellblaster squads
- Inceptor squad
- Redemptor dread
- Apothacary
- 2x Aggressor squads 1 flamer, 1 bolter
- A bog standard dread found incredibly cheap on the bay
- Whirly wind with some IF doors

thanks for looking guys

Sharp looking Fists! Very nice yellow and awesome job on the Leviathan Dread also. Very crisp decal application too.

My only critique on otherwise gorgeous models is the relative lack of interesting stuff on the bases, particularly the larger models.

If you're keeping them simple/unadorned on purpose, then I get going with that as a theme, for sure, but a few larger chunks of rock or debris would help in my humble opinion.

All that said, keep up the fantastic work! I'd be jazzed to play against models looking as nice as these!

Looking forward to more updates in the mean time. Take it easy for now.

You don't know me son, so I'll explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

Thanks mate, totally agree on the bases, i started out really liking the idea of the plains of Mars style theme but do agree they are looking a little plain.

Id like to add some Iron Warrior body parts to the infantry bases, maybe some bits of sprue to paint over with the textured paint. Then for the larger models id like to really go to town, the Redemtor id like to be standing over a wrecked IW helbrute or contemptor.

First troop choice done!! I have 3 more of the DI intercessor squads to do so im going to do one squad with each of the other units on the list... a painting troop tax.

Im using a mix of the GW and FW transfers and im really happy with the results so far, i want the army to be an amalgamation of HH and 40k styles.

Next up will be some Templar brethren style Reivers

Hi GH, your Fists thread was actually the inspiration for starting my own

Recipe is;

- Corax white prime
- Vallejo golden yellow base coat
- Highlight the raised areas with vallejo white
- shaded areas with burned umber (only did this on the primaris captain, thunderfire panel, rifleman dread and the 2 lieutenants as i didnt really feel the time spent on the infantry added enough, may revisit though)
- finish with a couple of coats of vallejo medium yellow

intercessor squad still needs a coat of matt varnish, generally find this flattens all of the colours nicley

Sorry yes, the corax white is spray primer then the rest is airbrush

Thanks, there's more on the way; another standard dread with las and missile, another leviathan (favourite model) with melta and drill, FW fists contemptor dread with heavy bolter and chainfist, standard FW contemptor dread with dual ccw which will be painted up as a chaplain dread (looking forward to this) aaand an impulse buy im not proud of - redemptor dread, which has to have the dakka cannon

Really like the idea of an all infantry and dread army slowly advancing up the board laying down a ridiculous amount of dakka

These are really some amazing marines! I love te vibrant colours. Personally, the plane basing is very neat. All the attention goes to the models, and it adds up to the colour scheme, giving the army a very unified look.
Maybe if you want it to be more interesting you could experiment with contrasting colours.

Those are so clean and bold! (i like the word bold for yellows and reds done this well) All these threads are making me like the imperial fists more and more

Hi guys, finally finished my easy-build reiver squad.

Wanted to add a little colour variation to the army so decided to go with a 30k templar brethren theme.

Im thinking next up ill build another intercessor squad and the apothacary.

That scheme looks really great for Reivers.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

I think so too, im not a massive fan of the models so i wouldn't actually have bought them if not to paint them as templars
