How does everyone feel about stand ins for the horrendously overpriced Death Blood Knights? I've seen suggested the Aelf Dragon Knights, but I think the shields and barding from the KOW Abyssal Horsemen look a little closer? Thoughts? Thank you.

I'm not a fan of the weapons and heads, but a simple swap on those would be easy. They're not particularly ornate, so I don't find them terribly exciting, but you could also look at them like a blank slate, which isn't bad either!
The price is right, too (obviously). Go for it! Just don't bring them to a Games Workshop expecting to use them.

I'd suggest you stay clear of this particular kit + their blood knight alternative (the black knights alternative minie is good though). Mantic have good minies with good detail, but these will disappoint you IMO.

Well you have to get some alternatives in one way or another.
Blood nights has been completely removed from GW direct whit no replacments or rebranding added.

That's probably due to an upcoming repackaging - that's been happening to a lot of other products, and the Soulblight faction is getting new allegiance stuff soon.

Yea, but that is usualy plastic that had square bases and fantasy design on the box, and when they did get an repackage, the units image was still on the website, just labled whit out of stock and production.

There is not a single hint that the resin blood nights has ever existed on the gw site now.

its like the tomb kings.
1 day its there, the next it is gone whit no explenations or substitutions.

You can't see them browsing the alliance menus because probably someone forgot to update their keywords and the filter never returns them.

You might be thinking of something else.

Tomb Kings were shifted to "Last Chance to Buy" and all their remaining stock sold out. Although they sold rapidly, it wasn't an over night disappearance as you suggest.

"Sometimes the only victory possible is to keep your opponent from winning." - The Emperor, from The Outcast Dead.
"Tell your gods we are coming for them, and that their realms will burn as ours did." -Thostos Bladestorm

You can still find Blood Knights by searching for them. You can put that "The End is Nigh!" sign back in storage for the time being.

1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress

Thank you for the responses! I'll probably wait and hope they get released in a plastic kit. I'm not a fan of finecast and the more I think about it the less I want to do a unit of counts as.
