Thanks to redben over on beasts of war for spotting this,

since CMON is now listed on the stock exchange (Hong Kong) we can now look at the financial reports they provide investors, just as we can do for GW

https://cmon-files.s3.amazonaws.com/pdf/cmon_file/file/148/results_announcement_english.pdf

Income = $21 million, up 22.1%

Gross Profit = $10.7 million, again up 22.6% so price rises/efficiencies have slightly more than covered increased costs

Actual take home profit = $1 million, down from $1.8 million last time (basically because they bought out the others : 7 sins IP for $895,000)

this covers 39 board games, 3 war games and a mobile game

now Kickstarter accounts for $11.5 million this year up from $9.5 million the previous year so while they take a lot of money from KS it's only just over half their company income (i'd expected it to be more, so I'm pleasantly surprised and all those who think CMON is 'just' a KS company need to think again)

Boardgames make up 98% of their income, the war games only 1% ($189,000) so while I wish they'd get wrath of kings and dark age distribution sorted for the UK (its meant to be happening) I can see why it's not a major priority for them

oh and they're making plans about alternative crowd funding options if for whatever reason they cant use KS in the future (I doubt they'll need to use them, but smart to have them)

Wow!

Miniature War Games were $675K in 2015 and only $189K in 2016.

CMON really, REALLY needs to figure out and fix their distribution channels, STAT.

Dark Age is a fantastic game with beautiful miniatures - it deserves WAY better than that!

Both Darkage and Wrath of Kings deserve better, but what is the 3rd one they have listed? Song of Ice and Fire isn't out yet

Ugh :( Not good. With those number I don't see CMON continuing with miniatures much longer. Which is a shame with Dark Age. I would say that game has one of the more unique looks on the market. Could also be though due to Wrath of Kings going big initially and fizzling out.

I'm also impressed that somebody over there really does like their war games as they're putting a lot of effort into Dark Age (and some into WoK) when it's clear that diverting the time and personel to a few direct release boardgames would probably be a smarter move

They put a LOT of effort into Dark Age, on a monthly basis.

We get monthly new releases of miniatures, and at least two new faction books a year as well.

This is just puzzling.

Maybe they're just making it attractive in order to sell it off?

Or, better yet, maybe they're just going to finally figure out their distribution plan and get going on it?
