I was going to wait a while before sharing this guy but I thought I might as well.

I used a few custom decals again for his banner and stuck to a limited palette. He needs a bit more weathering work on his back and the base needs some more colours put onto it but I'm pretty happy with him. I've started the long process of base coating the rest and should have most units done in a week or so - I hope.

Thanks for looking

Those cracks in the armor are a fabulous detail.

Agreed! Wouldn't mind hearing a bit on how you achieved that.

Thanks guys - I can't take credit for the idea as I stole it

I can tell you I achieved it using four colours: Vallejo Model Colour Woodgrain (a dark red-brown) & Black and Scale 75 Fantasy Peanut Butter (a warm yellow-orange) and Moonray Flesh (a pale bone).

I first painted the basic crack with thinned down Woodgrain then I deepened the cracks where they started and branched off with black. Using thinned Peanut Butter (the paint not the food paste of evil) I extended the cracks a little - this was more of a glaze, so watered down thinly. Finally I highlighted the most prominent edges of the cracks with a thinned Moonray Flesh, careful to not paint onto the cracks themselves.

I'll take progress pictures as I work on the army and I'll type up a quick article or add it to a finished post or something

No Primaris fan, but quality paint like this can't be ignored.

Like others have said, the armour cracks are a wonderful touch

Skull on the lower left bit of the banner, decal or freehand? It's outstanding either way.

It's another decal - I may do a little article on it but it does mean either designing or appropriating images for them.

I kind of like the Primaris models, the background less so but the range is OK in general. I can't say I'm a fan of the half-way 'multi-pose' aspect to them, or the very limited wargear options, but I think they can convert up well enough.

Very nice! Is the cracked marble coloring a signature of the Mortificators or your own embellishment?

Gonna steal the cracked marble effect for my Death Wing terminators, looks pretty cool.
A bit more weathering and it`s perfekt painted.

Thanks again everyone

@Warboss - The cracks are my own addition, but I got the idea from some other Mortifactors I saw online.

@Grotrebel - Steal away! I did think about more weathering but the Primaris are meant to be shiny and new to some degree, so I went for a balance between shiny and new and the dingy dark of the death obsessed Mortifactors.
