No one was hurt. It appears to have been an IED.

The mosque primarily serves the Somali community in the area.

Could very well be. There's preexisting dislike of Muslims and Somalis already, so that could tip the scale so to speak. At least no one died.

Probably staged by the muslisms as they always cried about being victims while actually the majority of people killed in terror attacks and hate crimes are of other religions, and even the casualties among muslim people are tipycally caused by other muslims.

In italy it happened something similar, with a fake attack at a mosque (actually not a real one, but still a place in where muslims gather to pray), where a door was bit scratched and burned by a molotov.

"No one was hurt in the explosion" sounds very suspicious but maybe it can be a heavy prank committed by some local kids. A real act of terror, in a land in which everyone has billions of guns and it's way more violent than any other western country, doesn't end up with just a damaged office.

Just my 2 cents of course, I've got no intel about what happened.

Because for some oddball reason, this rabid bigotry seems to only exist in left-wing areas. Progressives in the most progressive cities in the United States always seem to witness these horrible things, yet I live in a very politically and ethnically diverse part of Texas and I never see this. In fact, in all my travels in 36 years of life, I never see these sorts of things.

You see the trend here? I won't say the hatred doesn't exist, but we have a justice system and I'll need more than 'Oh no a bad thing happened to people who just so happened to be Muslim' to think every one of them as a result of white racists running around doing it. Show me evidence (and I'm not saying it's not there, I'm not looking these up), and we'll talk.

But we can -also- discuss how often religious establishments of all sorts are targeted. This happens, you know.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — The Latest on a mosque bombing in Minnesota (all times local):

4:30 p.m.

The head of the Minneapolis FBI office says the investigation into the bombing of a mosque is their top priority and they going to focus every available resource on the case until it’s solved.

Special Agent in Charge Rick Thornton says in a Monday news release that he can’t answer certain questions due to the ongoing investigation. He says it will take time to develop the information necessary to determine who carried out the Saturday’s attack and why.

Nobody was hurt in the explosion, which happened just before morning prayers at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington.

The executive director of a Minnesota mosque that was bombed over the weekend says the building doesn’t have outside security cameras.

Mohamed Omar, of the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington, told The Associated Press on Monday that his community doesn’t have the money for security cameras. He also says they didn’t receive any threats before Saturday morning’s attack or claims of responsibility afterward.

Nobody was hurt in the explosion, which happened just before morning prayers. The blast damaged the imam’s office across the hall from the worship space.

Officials say witnesses saw someone throw something from a truck or van before the blast and saw a vehicle speed away afterward.

The FBI hasn’t said if it has arrested anyone or if it is pursuing any suspects. An FBI spokesman didn’t reply to a call Monday seeking further information.

Keep in mind our media is highly unreliable. An AR-15 is an 'assault rifle', even though by actual definition it is not. An 'IED' could be some brickbuster that some idiot made in his garage. Literally anyone can make -some- kind of explosive, the difficult part is making sure you use it effectively. And this person didn't.

Without a title 3 permit or some other very rare circumstances, you cannot own a rifle with a burst or automatic fire feature. So you'd be correct, they aren't -illegal- under the right circumstances. And the people who have that kind of money baffle me.

It exists everywhere, and anyone can be a racist. It just seems that these incidents based on someone's story (something I take with a grain of salt) are usually in overwhelmingly left areas. And believe it or not, most rght-wing people loathe racism as well, and it's a bit odd you see very few of them reporting it. In my experience, ONE person has- and she was a black woman working for the Republican party and she got called some very interesting things by some white democrats.
