I have a question regarding Primaris Marines and Dreadnoughts. Can a Primaris only be interred into a Redemptor, or can they squeeze them into normal dreadnoughts too? Also, do you necessarily need to be a Primaris marine to be in a Redemptor, or will any old marine do?

I honestly haven't read all the new lore so I don't know for sure but I would think it would come down to how damaged their body is. If they were "reduced" enough in size due to injury they very well may be able to fit into a standard dreadnought.

Probably depends on what resources the chapter has available to them.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Most of what I'm gonna say is conjecture so don't take it as absolute fact but here goes:

I think yes, simply because the new Redemptor Dreadnought has a removable Sarcophagus like the old one. Apparently the Redemptor's advanced systems can cause the pilots to literally burn themselves out and have to be replaced. This means that either entombing Primaris Marines at a faster rate than normal marines (hence maybe interring marines that don't need it) or they're also using marines from the normal stock (and possibly ancient ones in regular dreads).

If the latter is possible, then this implies that the Redemptor's Sarcophagus is either compatible or identical to that of a standard Dreadnought, which theoretically means it might be able to be hooked up to a normal Dreadnought Chassis.

Again, all of it's conjecture. It could be that the Redemptor's Sarcophagus is specifically designed to be reusable and they're just being that callous with fallen marines.

They burn themselves out ? You mean, like, dying of burnt ? Aren't Space Marines entombed in dreadnought supposed to be HEROES ? Soldiers too precious to let them die, so they save them for the next battles, and they revere them ?
How did we get there ?

No clue, but the codex was pretty explicit that not only Redemptors have their sarcophagus replaced, but at a hugely fast pace too. Apparently the tech priests that designed them didn't consider the pilot as anything other than a biological CPU for the machine, hence didn't put any buffer between them and the war machine.
