With the coming of the Primaris marines and 8th edition I decided to dive back into 40k and pivot away from 30k. I had a whole bunch of clear paint left over from previous projects and I've always liked metallic armies, funnily enough my buddy started a primaris army as well but with blood angels so that left me with blue clear paint. So I decided to start everyone's favorite poster boys/punching bags the Ultramarines. I will update this thread as I finish the models I have for them.

And to start I have the primaris ancient and the 1st of two 5 man intercessor squads.

I like the metallic blue you have going on. Is it clear blue over silver?

Nice Metalic. I have an Alpha Legion unit I am wanting to do. Wonder if I could use same technique on it, with an aqua color

Yep you could! Though you would probably want to add a clear green to the blue

Thank you! I am starting to really like it as well

College has been making painting slow going, but I was able to finish the last 5 intercessors, the captain in garvis armor and one of the lieutenants.

They look good, although your pics are a little washed out. If you have access to image editing software (Photoshop/Gimp/etc) have a tinker with the levels to remove the grey tone over the top of the image. That will make them look much more crisp.

Yeah I got to mess around with my settings on my phone or get my white backdrop up here to school. But thank you for the advice!

Up next is the first 5 man scout squad, which I am using for a troop slot and a cheap obsec unit
